15th Installation Ceremony of Rotaract Club of Achievers Lanka Business School

Celebrating the 15th successive year, Rotaract Club of Achievers Lanka Business School was honored to hold its 15th Installation Ceremony on the 31st of August 2024 at Panibharatha Theatre, Colombo 07, from 06.30 pm onwards. Rtr. Manushri Raveendran joined this celebration representing RACUOCFMF at this memorable event.

After the arrival of the chief guest, official proceedings of the ceremony commenced with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp. The dignitaries took their seats at the head table. All rose for the National Anthem which was then taken up by the Routine Rotaract Formalities; The Flag Salutation, Rotaract Invocation, Four-way test and the Rotaract Song by Rtr. Ahbinaya Udayakumar. Next up, the gathering was addressed by the Project chairperson Rtr. Kumaresan Piragatheesan, Rtr. Giretharan Branavaram, and Rtr. Marque Narrendra Joseph for the installation ceremony. Following the cordial welcome of all who joined the ceremony, the audience was addressed by the Chief Guest of the event Mr. Azad Hye Managing Director at Achievers Lanka Business School. Next up, the podium was open for the secretary’s report for the RI year 2023-24 presented by the Outgoing Secretary Rtr. Loshini Gnanasambanthan in which she presented the secretary’s report highlighting the successful projects carried out by the club during the past year. Next a recap video of the club was witnessed to walk down the memory lane throughout the victorious year. Next, Outgoing President Rtr. Vinuri Ramanayake addressed the gathering, expressing her sincere gratitude to all who were part of her incredible journey. She concluded her speech by leaving a beautiful message to all the Rotaractors and officially signed off as the president for the RI year 2023-24 congratulating Rtr. Giretharan Prithviram and his team. A funny introduction was given to the upcoming president Rtr. Giretharan Prithviram by his brother Rtr. Giretharan Branavaram. Rtr. Vinuri Ramanayake gracefully collared the incoming president and handed over the responsibilities of the club. From that instance Rtr. Giretharan Prithviram was officially the president of RACALBS for the Rotaract Year 2024 – 2025. Next, lined up in the agenda was a speech by the newly Inaugurated President Rtr. Giretharan Prithviram. He expressed his gratitude towards the Past President Rtr. Vinuri Ramanayake for guiding them through the ups and downs in their charter year. He acknowledged the tremendous responsibility on his shoulders to uphold the standards and the recognition set in their charter year. He took the opportunity to highlight his vision stating, “To foster a community where service is not just a duty but a way to life and aims to inspire and lead with commitment”. The ceremony then proceeded towards the highlight of the evening to introduce the Executive committee and the Board of directors for the year 2024-25 as given below:

Director of Membership Development – Rtr. Zaid Kamil On the lineup is District Rotaract Representative PHF. Rtr. PP Shanel Mendis addressed the gathering. He said that Rotaract is about enjoying ourselves while helping others. Following up was the address of Guest of Honour, President of the Rotary Club of Colombo Midtown, Rtn. Rasini Bandara. She admired the club for the work done throughout the year and wished them a successful year ahead. Further, she brought to attention suicide prevention which was one of the main visions during her service period. With all the proceedings coming to an end, it was time to bring the audience’s attention to an entertainment item by the members of the Rotaract Club of Achievers Lanka Business School. The day concluded with the presenting tokens of appreciation by the President of the club Rtr. Giretharan Prithviram to the dignitaries followed by a vote of thanks by the Secretary for the RI year 2024-25 Rtr. Yuhansa Bandara thanked all who had contributed to making the day a success and thanked all dignitaries and participants for being part of their special day. Rotaract Club of University of Colombo Faculty of Management and Finance takes immense pleasure in conveying their heartiest wishes to the incoming president Rtr. Giretharan Prithviram and his board of directors to do great things in the future and to achieve even greater milestones.
