As we step into a new Rotaract year, the club is ready to inspire its members to lead with purpose, creating a brighter and more inclusive future for all.
The Rotaract Club of University of Colombo Faculty of Management and Finance, recently came together for a memorable evening to celebrate its 15th Installation Ceremony, held on 7th September 2024, at Lilian auditorium. The event marked a significant transition of leadership, recognizing the outgoing board’s accomplishments and ushering in a new chapter under the guidance of the newly appointed President, Rtr. Kaveesha Dodanthenna.
The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome from the hosts, Anupa De Silva and Amna Naushad, who greeted the distinguished gathering of guests, members, and Rotaract supporters. The privilege of lighting the lamp was made to special dignitaries which includes the Chief Guest, Rtn. Rasini Bandara, the District Rotaract Representative and other dignitaries in support of the deeds of the club. Following the lighting ceremony, the house was called to order by the Sergeant at Arms Rtr. Dinuka Gunathilaka, proceedings were then taken up by the co-chair of the installation Rtr. Hana Abdeen for the Routine Rotaract Formalities, the flag salutation, Rotaract innovation, the Four Way test, and the Rotaract song.
The esteemed panel and the assembled audience were warmly welcomed by Rtr. Dilum Weragoda, co-chair person of the Installation. Then, the outgoing Secretary, Rtr. Melisha Gonaduwa, presented the Secretary’s Report. She provided an overview of the year’s achievements, highlighting the dedication and hard work invested around the clock to make a meaningful difference in the community. She became quite emotional as she spoke about the connections she had created, particularly the special bond she developed with the president. She expressed her happiness and pride about the effort she had invested in making a significant impact on the club. She also shared her enthusiasm for the upcoming Rotaract year, looking forward to more successful projects and greater achievements. Following the report, a video showcasing the year’s memorable moments was presented. The video was a delightful experience for all the Rotaractors, capturing a full spectrum of the year’s events. Laughter filled the auditorium as everyone recalled about the enjoyable times and fun they had throughout the year.
The Rotaract Club of University of Colombo Faculty of Management and Finance, has succeeded over the years not due to the efforts of just one individual, but because of the collective dedication of all its members who have worked tirelessly to drive the club’s success. Next, IPP Rtr. Vishvi Wijetunge delivered her final address, highlighting how her unexpected entry into Rotaract led to personal growth and meaningful friendships. She praised the club’s teamwork and unity, expressed gratitude to key figures, and reflected on the club’s legacy with pride, encapsulated by the motto, “Teamwork makes the dream work.” 
One of the most eagerly anticipated moments of the day arrived with the introduction of our incoming president, Rtr. Kaveesha Dodanthenna, who was filled with anticipation to find out who would deliver her inaugural address. To her delight, it was none other than Rtr. Shenaya Fernando. She introduced Rtr. Kaveesha as an energetic, fun-loving, and outgoing person who stands out wherever she goes. Known for her loud and joyful demeanor, Rtr. Kaveesha has a unique ability to brighten any room with her presence.
The audience learned many interesting facts about the president from Rtr. Shenaya, who then entertained everyone with a humorous introductory video about Rtr. Kaveesha Dodanthenna. As laughter filled the room, the most significant and eagerly awaited moment of the day arrived, Rtr. Kaveesha Dodanthenna was elegantly adorned with the presidential collar, officially becoming the President of RACUOCFMF for the RI year 2024-25. This new chapter we have embarked upon does not come as a neatly wrapped gift with a guarantee of safety; rather, it begins as an adventure filled with a bit of uncertainty and challenge. It will require keen eyes to navigate its twists and turns, courageous steps to forge ahead, and a fearless heart to embrace its opportunities, all qualities that we believe Rtr. Kaveesha Dodanthenna embodies. So, we extend our warmest wishes to our esteemed President, Rtr. Kaveesha Dodanthenna, for a successful and fulfilling journey ahead!
Next, the Incoming President, Rtr. Kaveesha Dodanthenna, took the stage. She expressed that, “Rotaract has been more than just an organization to me; it has been a movement that has transformed my life in ways I could never have imagined.” She spoke of the unwavering support and friendship she has received, highlighting how much it means to her and how fortunate she feels to have Rtr. Shenaya Fernando as her partner on this journey. Before concluding, she emphasized, “To my dedicated officials for 2024-2025, I am deeply grateful for your commitment and enthusiasm. Together, we will make our club motto, ‘Teamwork makes the dream work, a reality.”

Moving on, District Rotaract Representative for the year 2024-25, PHF Rtr. PP Shanel Mendis addressed the gathering. He congratulated Rtr. Vishvi Wijetunge for a job well done over the past year and wished the best of luck to the Incoming President and her Board of Directors. He extended congratulations to the entire outgoing committee and warmly welcomed the incoming president and team. He spoke about the noteworthy projects undertaken by the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo Faculty of Management and Finance and praised the members’ commitment. He advised the incoming team to continue this legacy and highlighted that the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo Faculty of Management and Finance is the fourth largest club in the district. He concluded with the sentiment, “If you know that you have guided someone’s life and made an impact on the community and people around you, that is what truly matters at the end of the day.”
Even though it was a formal event, the organizers added music and fun. Talented musicians from our club performed live, and their captivating tunes quickly brought the crowd to the dance floor. With precise rhythm, they guided the dancers to follow the clapping, creating a joyful moment. After this the Chief Guest, President of the Rotary Club of Colombo Mid Town, Rtn. Rasini Bandara addressed the gathering. She congratulated Rtr. Kaveesha highlighted this year’s importance, marking 50 years of excellence for the club. She also praised the club’s involvement in the district project ‘Minds Matter,’ which focuses on mental health and suicide prevention.
How could we not express our gratitude for the support and guidance that has shaped who we are? The token of appreciation was a small gesture that conveyed a heartfelt thank you to all those amazing people who have been there for us. This was followed by a felicitation on behalf of the entire crowd of well-wishers. To acknowledge everyone present, Incoming Secretary Rtr. Shenaya Fernando, delivered the vote of thanks. With that, the day’s proceedings concluded, and the Annual Installation Ceremony of RACUOCFMF was adjourned by the Incoming President, Rtr. Kaveesha Dodanthenna.
As the day drew to a close, a new era dawned upon RACUOCFMF. Congratulations to the extraordinary Dream Teams for their outstanding achievements in accomplishing their goals. Let their success serve as a beacon for future generations of the club. Here’s to a year filled with continued growth and inspiration.
සෑම විශිෂ්ඨ හදවතකම ඇත්තේ වෙනසක් කිරීමට කැප වූ පුද්ගලයන්ගේ ශක්තියයි. කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්යාලයීය කළමනාකරණ සහ මූල්ය පීඨයේ Rotaract සමාජය, මෙම වෙනස් පුද්ගලයන් පෝෂණය කිරීමට, සංවේදනය කිරීමට, නායකත්වය සහ සේවය පිළිබඳ හැඟීම් පෝෂණය ඇති කිරීමට කැපවී සිටී. අපි නව Rotaract වසරකට පා තබන විට, සමාජය සිය සාමාජිකයින්ට අරමුණක් ඇතිව නායකත්වය දීමට මෙන්ම, සැමට දීප්තිමත් සහ වඩාත් වටිනා අනාගතයක් නිර්මාණය කිරීමට සූදානම්ව සිටී.
කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්යාලයේ කළමනාකරණ සහ මූල්ය පීඨයේ Rotaract සමාජය, 15 වන ස්ථාපනය කිරීමේ උත්සවය 2024 සැප්තැම්බර් 7 වැනි දින Lilian ශ්රවණාගාරයේදී පැවැත් වූ අතර එම අමතක නොවන සන්ධ්යාව සැමරීම සඳහා සාමූහිකව එක්විය. මෙම උත්සවය නායකත්වයේ සැලකිය යුතු සංක්රාන්තියක් සනිටුහන් කළ අතර, සමුගෙන යන සාමාජිකයන්ගේ ජයග්රහණ හඳුනා ගනිමින් සහ අලුතින් පත් වූ සභාපති Rtr. Kaveesha Dodanthenna ගේ මග පෙන්වීම යටතේ නව පරිච්ඡේදයක් ආරම්භ කළේය. 
සභාව මෙහෙයවූ අනුප ද සිල්වා සහ අම්නා නවුෂාඩ් ගේ ආචාර හමුවේ සම්භාවනීය අමුත්තන්, සාමාජිකයින් සහ රොටරැක්ට් ආධාරකරුවන් උණුසුම් ලෙස පිළිගත් අතර ඉන්පසු උත්සවය ආරම්භ විය. ප්රධාන ආරාධිත අමුත්තා, Rotaract දිස්ත්රික් ක සභාව නියෝජනය කළ Rtn. Rasini Bandara මහත්මිය ඇතුළු සමාජයේ ක්රියාවලට අනුග්රහය දැක්වූ සම්භාවනීය අමුත්තන් වෙත පොල්තෙල් පහන දැල්වීමේ වරප්රසාදය හිමි විය. ආලෝකමත් කිරීමේ උත්සවයෙන් අනතුරුව Sergeant at arms Rtr. Dinuka Gunathilake ගේ කැඳවීම සිදුකරන ලදී. ඉන් අනතුරුව සංවිධායක මණ්ඩලයේ සම ප්රධානී Rtr. Hana Abdeen විසින් දෛනික Rotaract formalities, ධජ ආචාරය, Rotaract innovation, the four way test සහ Rotaract ගීතය සඳහා කටයුතු ආරම්භ කරන ලදී.
ගෞරවනීය මණ්ඩලය සහ රැස්ව සිටි ප්රේක්ෂකාගාරය, සංවිධායක මණ්ඩලයේ සම ප්රධානී Rtr. Dilum Weragoda විසින් උණුසුම් ලෙස පිළිගන්නා ලදී. ඉන්පසුව, නික්ම යන ලේකම්, Rtr. කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්යාලයේ කළමනාකරණ සහ මූල්ය පීඨයේ Rotaract සමාජය වසර ගණනාවක් පුරා සාර්ථක වී ඇත්තේ එක් පුද්ගලයෙකුගේ උත්සාහයක් නිසා නොව, සමාජයේ සාර්ථකත්වයට ගෙන යාමට වෙහෙස නොබලා කටයුතු කළ එහි සාමාජිකයින්ගේ සාමූහික කැපවීම හේතුවෙනි. ඊළඟට, සමුගන්නා සභාපති Rtr. Vishvi Wijetunge, ඇයගේ Rotaract වෙත අනපේක්ෂිත ප්රවේශය, පෞද්ගලික වර්ධනයට සහ අර්ථවත් මිත්රත්වයට හේතු වූ ආකාරය ඉස්මතු කරමින් සිය අවසන් දේශනය සිදු කළාය. ඇය සමාජයේ කණ්ඩායම් ක්රියාකාරිත්වය සහ එකමුතුකම ප්රශංසා කළ අතර, ප්රධාන පුද්ගලයින්ට කෘතඥතාව පළ කළ අතර, “කණ්ඩායම් වැඩ කිරීමෙන් සිහින යථාර්ථයක් කරගත හැකිය” යන ආදර්ශ පාඨය විශේෂ කොට ප්රකාශ කළාය.
මීළඟට සැවොම අපේක්ෂා කළ අවස්ථාවක් වන අපගේ මීළඟ සභාපති Rtr. Kaveesha Dodanthanna හඳුන්වා දීම සිදුවිය. ඇය සමාරම්භක දේශනය සඳහා Rtr. Shenaya Fernando හඳුන්වා දුන්නේය. Rtr. Kaveesha ජවසම්පන්න, විනෝදයට ලැදි සහ සමාජය සමග ගැටෙන තැනැත්තියක් බවත් ඇය යන යන තැන කැපී පෙනෙන බවත් ඇගේ ඝෝෂාකාරී හා ප්රීතිමත් හැසිරීම ඕනෑම සභාවක් දීප්තිමත් කිරීමට ඇත්තේ අද්විතීය හැකියාවක් බවත් Rtr. Shenaya කියා සිටියාය.
ප්රේක්ෂකයින් Rtr. Shenaya ගෙන් නව සභාපතිවරයා පිළිබඳ රසවත් කරුණු රාශියක් ඉගෙන ගත්හ. ඉන්පසුව Rtr. Kaveesha ගැන හාස්යජනක හඳුන්වාදීමේ වීඩියෝවකින් සියල්ලන්ව අමන්දානන්දයට පත් කළේය. සිනහවෙන් සභාව පිරී යද්දී, දවසේ වැදගත්ම සහ උනන්දුවෙන් බලා සිටි මොහොත උදා විය, Rtr. Kaveesha Dodanthenna 2024-25 RI වර්ෂය සඳහා නිල වශයෙන් RACUOCFMF හි සභාපති බවට පත්වෙමින් සභාපති කරපටියෙන් අලංකාර ලෙස සැරසී සිටියේය. අප ආරම්භ කර ඇති මෙම නව පරිච්ඡේදය ආරක්ෂාව පිළිබඳ සහතිකයක් සහිත පිළිවෙළකට ඔතා ඇති තෑග්ගක් ලෙස නොවේ; ඒ වෙනුවට, එය ආරම්භ වන්නේ තරමක් අවිනිශ්චිතතාවයකින් සහ අභියෝගයකින් පිරුණු වික්රමයකි. එය නියමාකාරයෙන් හැසිරවීමට තියුණු ඇස්, ඉදිරියට යාමට නිර්භීත පියවර සහ එහි අවස්ථාවන් වැලඳ ගැනීමට නිර්භීත හදවතක් අවශ්ය වනු ඇත. Kaveesha Dodanthenna ප්රකාශ කළේ, “Rotaract මට හුදු සංවිධානයකට වඩා වැඩි දෙයක්; එය මට කිසිදා සිතාගත නොහැකි ආකාරයෙන් මගේ ජීවිතය පරිවර්තනය කළ අවස්ථාවක් ” බවයි. ඇය ඇයට ලැබී ඇති නොසැලෙන සහයෝගය සහ මිත්රත්වය ගැන කතා කළාය, එය ඇයට කොතරම් වැදගත්ද යන්නත්,මේ ගමනේ ඇගේ සහකාරිය ලෙස Rtr. ඉදිරියට යමින්, 2024-25 වසර සඳහා දිස්ත්රික් Rotaract නියෝජිත PHF Rtr. PP Shanel Mendis සභාව ඇමතුවේය. ඔහු IPP Rtr. Vishvi Wijetunge වෙත පසුගිය වසර පුරාවට ඉටු කළ කාර්යයට සුබ පැතුම් එක් කළ අතර, පැමිණෙන සභාපතිනියට සහ ඇයගේ අධ්යක්ෂ මණ්ඩලයට සුබ පැතුම් එක් කළේය. ඔහු සමුගන්නා සමස්ත කමිටුවට සුබපැතුම් එක් කළ අතර පැමිණෙන සභාපති ඇතුළු කණ්ඩායම උණුසුම් ලෙස පිළිගත්තේය.
කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්යාලයේ කළමනාකරණ හා මූල්ය පීඨයේ රොටරැක්ට් සමාජය විසින් සිදු කරන ලද කැපී පෙනෙන ව්යාපෘති පිළිබඳව කතා කළ ඔහු සාමාජිකයින්ගේ කැපවීම අගය කළේය. මෙම උරුමය ඉදිරියට ගෙන යන ලෙස ඔහු පැමිණෙන කණ්ඩායමට උපදෙස් දුන් අතර කොළඹ විශ්ව විද්යාලයේ කළමනාකරණ හා මූල්ය පීඨයේ Rotaract සමාජය දිස්ත්රික්කයේ සිව්වන විශාලතම සමාජය බව අවධාරණය කළේය. ඔහු නිගමනය කළේ, “ඔබ යමෙකුගේ ජීවිතයට මඟ පෙන්වූ බවත්, ප්රජාවට සහ ඔබ අවට සිටින පුද්ගලයින්ට බලපෑමක් ඇති කර ඇති බවත් ඔබ දන්නේ නම්, දවස අවසානයේදී සැබවින්ම වැදගත් වන්නේ එයයි.”
උත්සවය විධිමත් වාතාවරණයක් පවත්වා ගෙන ගිය අතර, FMF උද්යෝගය බැබළුණි. අපගේ දක්ෂ සංගීත කරුවන්ට සජීවීව ගීත ගායනා කිරීමට ආරාධනා කරන ලද අතර, ඔවුන්ගේ සිත් ඇදගන්නා සංගීතයට සභාව නැගී සිට තාලය රසවිඳින්නට විය. එය ඒකාබද්ධ හා විනෝදජනක අත්දැකීමක් නිර්මාණය කළේය. සංගීතයෙන් පිරුණු මනරම් මොහොතකින් පසු සන්ධ්යාවේ ප්රධාන ආරාධිත අමුත්තා වූ කොළඹ Mid Town රොටරි සමාජයේ සභාපති Rtn. Rasini Bandara මහත්මිය ද මෙහිදී අදහස් දැක්වූයේ Rtr.
