Miles Ahead Vol. 2 Phase 1
From the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo Faculty of Management and Finance, comes an exciting new blogging chapter, Miles Ahead Vol. 2 Phase 1. The blog team members met up for this foundational meeting with an afternoon of introductions, knowledge sharing and team building activities.
The blog team leads, Rtr. Lihansa & Rtr. Shenya welcomed the session with their warm welcome. And their visions and aspirations for the blog’s future, shared Rtr. Shenya. It began with their introduction and set an inspirational start to the gathering, suggesting the blog’s ability as a creative avenue and community building in the faculty.
Former blog team head Rtr. Aman Thaha also adds depth to the session. Rtr. Aman shared some of the history and evolution of the blog. His experience and advice gave new members a wider view of what the blog was and has been like and its importance to the Rotaract community. Rtr. Shenya then added more, discussing with a thoroughness, all of the blog’s operational aspects. All this workflow was thoroughly explained by her, including flow of article submission process, instructions for uploading content, as well as how to approach a writing article. The relevant technical knowledge that is provided to new members enables them to contribute effectively to the blog with the essential tools.
Engaging ice breaking activities turned the session comedy all interesting. Roaring rounds of musical chairs and charades created the feel among team members that they were camaraderie, not camaraderie. These activities were very helpful to people becoming more comfortable with each other and also for a sense of working together within the team.
Miles Ahead also meant more than an orientation, but a pillar upon which the blog team has built long lasting relationships. It was the combination of professional guidance and social interaction that formed a perfect balance that would set the blog for success and the team for further collective growth.
Miles Ahead Vol. 2 Phase 2
On 20th of September, the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo Faculty of Management and Finance had its enlightening ‘Online session’ titled “Miles Ahead Vol. 2 Phase 2.” In a virtual workshop aimed at videography and video editing, blog team members gained necessary digital content creating skills.
The session, which commenced at 8.00pm Rtr. Sadun led them expertly with sharing his wide knowledge of digital media production. As a result of focused workshop, participants got some technical insights on content development of video content, which is a necessity in today’s digital communication.
Rtr. Sadun’s session included shooting basics and advanced editing. The workshop was specifically designed to help enhance the bloggers’ ability to generate engaging multimedia content, providing them with a new tool to have in their blogging toolkit.
They were taught on practical guidance on video editing software about what are the basic techniques to be applied so that videos can look professional and polished. The session covered some mainly video composition, lighting techniques, sound editing, and post production effects enough to enable a well-rounded grasp of the video creation process.
This virtual workshop was very useful for upcoming bloggers as it taught them the skills necessary to include video in blog posts. This session brought knowledge that gave room for new possibilities of creative expression and diversification of content on the blog platform.
Online session had an interactive nature, enabling the participants to directly interact with the presenter and ask questions and what else? get the clarification of some parts of video production. That practical line of approach assured members could use their newly acquired knowledge right away and deliver it in practice to blogging.
Miles Ahead Phase 1 was a really important step to help blog team entirely ready to post content that was going to be a little more dynamic going forward. The success of the session was certainly how the club approached embracing contemporary digital tools of communication and how it improved the quality of the blog content.
Miles Ahead Vol. 2 Phase 3
On the 25th of September, blog members from the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo Faculty of Management and Finance, gathered virtually for an insightful session titled “Miles Ahead Vol. 2 Phase 3.” Held over Microsoft Teams, this online meet-up brought blog team members together for an evening focused on enhancing their content creation skills.
The session, led by the DCOM Directors, RTR. Okitha Marasinghe and RTR. Piyumi Tharangika, provided guidance on essential blogging practices. Kicking off at 8:00 PM and lasting approximately 1.5 hours, the directors shared valuable insights on post-preparation and offered expert tips to help members create more engaging and effective blog content.
The workshop covered general guidelines for blog preparation, including tips on how to brainstorm topics, structure posts, and ensure that content resonates with readers and also it highlighted the value of clarity, coherence, and creativity, stressing that these elements are essential in making posts both informative and enjoyable to read.
Participants gained practical advice on using language effectively, maintaining a consistent style, and incorporating visuals and multimedia elements. These guidelines aim to support blog members in crafting posts that reflect the unique spirit of the Rotaract Club and engage readers from diverse backgrounds.
This online session, while brief, was a productive and inspiring experience. It left the participants motivated and better prepared to contribute meaningfully to the blog. “Miles Ahead Vol. 2 Phase 3” served as a launchpad for the blog team to explore new ways to share their ideas and stories, helping them grow as bloggers and communicators.
Miles Ahead Vol. 2 Phase 4
On the 1st of November, the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo Faculty of Management and Finance hosted a lively and engaging event, “Miles Ahead Vol. 2 Phase 4,” at Independence Square. This event brought together new and seasoned members of the FMF Blog team for an inspiring afternoon of introductions, activities, and team bonding under the theme “Where Ideas Spark and Connections Grow.”
The event began with a warm introduction to the blog by Rtr. Lihansa Edirisinghe and Rtr. Shenya Chandrasiri. They shared insights into the blog’s purpose, emphasizing its role as a platform for sharing ideas, fostering creativity, and building community within the university.
Following the initial introduction, senior blog members took the floor to share their experiences and the journey that led them to become a part of the blog team. This session was a source of motivation, showing how the blog has evolved and continues to be a platform for expressing ideas and cultivating a strong sense of community.
Next came an icebreaker session where the junior members introduced themselves. This activity helped break the ice, allowing everyone to get comfortable and start building connections. It was a friendly and welcoming environment that encouraged collaboration and open communication.
The event concluded with a short game, bringing a burst of fun and energy to the group. This activity added a lighthearted twist to the day and left everyone with smiles and new friendships.
“Miles Ahead Vol. 2 Phase 4” was a memorable start for the new blog members and a reaffirmation of the blog team’s spirit and vision. This gathering laid the foundation for exciting future projects and collaborations, strengthening the bonds within the Rotaract community.

කොළඹ විශ්ව විද්යාලයේ කළමනාකරණ සහ මූල්ය පීඨයේ රොටරැක්ට් සමාජයෙ සිත් ඇදගන්නාසුළු නව බ්ලොග්කරණ පරිච්ඡේදයක් ලෙස Miles Ahead වෙළුම. 2 අදියර 1 දැක්විය හැකිය. බ්ලොග් කණ්ඩායමේ සාමාජිකයින් හඳුන්වාදීම, දැනුම බෙදාගැනීම සහ කණ්ඩායම් සුහදතාව ගොඩනැගීමේ ක්රියාකාරකම් රැසකින් සමන්විත විය.
Blog කණ්ඩායමේ නායකත්වය, Rtr. Lihansa සහ Rtr. Shenya ඔවුන්ගේ උණුසුම් පිළිගැනීමෙන් සැසිය ඇරඹිනි. Blog කණ්ඩායමේ අනාගතය සඳහා ඔවුන්ගේ දැක්ම සහ අභිලාෂයන් Rtr. Shenya බෙදා ගන්නා ලදී. වැඩසටහන ඔවුන්ව හඳුන්වාදුන් පසුව ආරම්භ විනි. රොටරි සමාජයේ නිර්මාණාත්මක මාවතක් සහ ප්රජා ගොඩනැගීමක් ලෙස Blog කණ්ඩායමේ හැකියාව පවසමින් රැස්වීමට උද්යෝගිමත් ආරම්භයක් ලැබිනි.
හිටපු Blog කණ්ඩායම් ප්රධානියා Rtr. Aman Thaha සැසියට මනා අර්ථයක් එක් කලේය. Rtr. Aman බ්ලොග් අඩවියේ ඉතිහාසය සහ පරිණාමය සහ සමහරක් අත්දැකීම් බෙදා ගත්තේය. ඔහුගේ අත්දැකීම් සහ උපදෙස් නව සාමාජිකයින්ට බ්ලොග්කරණය කුමක්ද සහ එය කෙබඳුද යන්න සහ රොටරැක්ට් ප්රජාවට එහි වැදගත්කම පිළිබඳ පුළුල් දැක්මක් ලැබිනි. පසුව Rtr. Shenya බ්ලොග්කරණයේ සියලුම ක්රියාකාරී අංශ පිළිබඳව ගැඹුරින් සාකච්ඡා කළාය. ලිපි ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමේ ක්රියාවලිය, අන්තර්ගතය උඩුගත කිරීම සඳහා උපදෙස් මෙන්ම ලිවීමේ ලිපියකට ප්රවේශ වන්නේ කෙසේද යන්න ඇතුළුව මෙම සියලු කාර්ය ප්රවාහය ඇය විසින් තරයේ පැහැදිලි කරන ලදී. නව සාමාජිකයින්ට ලබා දෙන අදාළ තාක්ෂණික දැනුම ඔවුන්ට අත්යවශ්ය මෙවලම් සමඟ බ්ලොග් අඩවියට ඵලදායී ලෙස ඔවුනටද දායක වීමට හැකි වේ.
Ice breaking ක්රියාකාරකම්වල නිරත වීම සැසිය රසවත් වූවකි . සංගීත පුටු තරඟය සාමාජිකයන් අතර ඔවුන්ගේ මිත්රත්වය පිළිබඳ හැඟීමක් ඇති කළේය. මෙම ක්රියාකාරකම් එකිනෙකා සමඟ වඩාත් හදුනා ගැනීමට සහ කණ්ඩායම තුළ එකට වැඩ කිරීමේ හැඟීම ඇතිකිරීමටත් ඉතා ප්රයෝජනවත් විය. Miles ahead හරහා අදහස් කළේ දිශානතියකට වඩා වැඩි යමක් වන නමුත් බ්ලොග් කණ්ඩායම දිගුකාලීන සබඳතා ගොඩනඟා ගැනීමට ගොඩනැගූ කුළුණකි. බ්ලොග්කරණය සාර්ථකත වීමට සහ කණ්ඩායම් සාමූහිකත්වය වර්ධනය සඳහා සකසන පරිපූර්ණ සමතුලිතතාවයක් ඇති කළ වෘත්තීය මාර්ගෝපදේශනයේ සහ සමාජ අන්තර්ක්රියාකාරිත්වයේ එකතුවයි.

සැප්තැම්බර් 20 වන දින, කොළඹ විශ්ව විද්යාලයේ කළමනාකරණ සහ මූල්ය පීඨ රොටරැක්ට් සමාජය, විසින් “ Miles ahead Vol 2 phase 2” යන මැයෙන් එහි ‘මංගත සැසිය’ පැවැත්විණි. වීඩියෝකරණය සහ වීඩියෝ සංස්කරණය ඉලක්ක කරගත් වැඩමුළුවකදී, Blog කණ්ඩායම් සාමාජිකයින් අවශ්ය ඩිජිටල් අන්තර්ගත නිර්මාණය කිරීමේ කුසලතා ලබා ගත්හ.
රාත්රී 8.00 ට ආරම්භ වූ සැසිය ඩිජිටල් මාධ්ය නිෂ්පාදනය පිළිබඳ ඔහුගේ පුළුල් දැනුම බෙදා හදා ගනිමින් Rtr. සැප්තැම්බර් 25 වන දින, කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්යාලයේ රොටරැක්ට් සමාජයේ කළමනාකරණ සහ මූල්ය පීඨයේ බ්ලොග් සාමාජිකයින්, “Miles ahead වෙළුම 2 අදියර 3” යන මැයෙන් සැසියක් සඳහා රැස් වූහ. මයික්රොසොෆ්ට් කණ්ඩායම් හරහා පවත්වන ලද මෙම ඔන්ලයින් හමුවීම බ්ලොග් කණ්ඩායම් සාමාජිකයින් ඔවුන්ගේ අන්තර්ගත නිර්මාණ කුසලතා වැඩි දියුණු කිරීම කෙරෙහි අවධානය යොමු කළ සන්ධ්යාවක් සඳහා එක් කළේය.
DCOM අධ්යක්ෂවරුන් විසින් මෙහෙයවන ලද සැසිය, Rtr. Okitha Marasinghe සහ Rtr. නොවැම්බර් 01 වැනි දින, කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්යාලයේ කළමනාකරණ හා මූල්ය පීඨයේ රොටරැක්ට් සමාජය විසින් නිදහස් චතුරශ්රයේදී “Miles ahead වෙළුම 2 අදියර 4” සජීවී හා ආකර්ෂණීය උත්සවයක් පවත්වන ලදී. මෙම උත්සවය FMF බ්ලොග් කණ්ඩායමේ නව සහ පළපුරුදු සාමාජිකයින් එක් කර “අදහස් දිලිසෙන තැන සහ සම්බන්ධතා වර්ධනය වන තැන” යන තේමාව යටතේ හැඳින්වීම්, ක්රියාකාරකම් සහ කණ්ඩායම් බැඳීම් පිළිබඳ ප්රබෝධමත් සන්ධ්යාවක් සඳහා එක් විය.
