“Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads.”
– Henry David Thoreau
The Project “One Earth” was all about nature’s beauty, what we have done to it and what we should do. The general biological world is very pleasing to the unaided eye. The truth of beauty applies in the biological world no less (probably more) than in the physical world. I believe it is a good and accurate definition. We started conveying and making you all aware from the 22nd of August 2022 and continued telling all throughout 2 months via the social media awareness campaign which consists of 13 posts in total.
Our initial post was a retelling of the story of the beauty of forests and their importance. A forest is much more than a collection of trees. Whether you explore the woods alone or join a guided walk by a naturalist, the forests are a place to indulge your imagination and discover the outdoors. Forests provide a home to the world’s diverse array of plants and animals. Thus, it is one of the precious resources proved by mother nature. Yet, despite our dependence on forests, we are still allowing them to disappear by doing many saddening disasters, the only answer we could give to this is a big NO! We beautifully turned this bitter page with the question “How can we save it?” via our 4th post by conveying the message of “Planting a hope for the future”
The salty smell that one can taste it dancing on one’s taste buds, the sound of waves applauding and hugging the shore, the water teasing our toes, and running back into hiding feels like running through a montage of life like in romantic movies, what wonders does it hold in its deeps? Our 5th post was about the pool of wonders, the ocean. All living forms on earth are owing to the sea which generates 75% of the oxygen on the globe. Yet, are we responsible enough to protect it? Every day thousands of marine life die and pollution is constantly being pumped out into these large bodies of water. Anything from overfishing to abandoning waste in oceans damages marine biodiversity. From the 8th post, we addressed the solutions to save marine biodiversity, the home to marine life.
Our 9th post was about the pillar of natural evolution which helps ecosystems to stay in balance, wildlife. If you have ever thought about the reckless rate at which man is exploiting nature, you will know that a change in people’s attitude is a need of the hour. Through our 12th post, we conveyed the message of taking essential steps to preserve wildlife without letting it be completely wiped out from this land. Nature is an unseen heaven. The alluring beauty and blessings for humanity are bestowed upon by nature. This call is for all nature lovers, Show the world how people can and must protect natural diversity through conservation efforts. In the words of Wordsworth “There is a spirit in the woods” which means that a true nature lover finds life in nature.
With this reminder, the project “One Earth” concluded its campaign on the 23rd of October 2022 with the hope that it did give everyone hope and inspired them to work towards a better tomorrow. When encountering any situation, the big picture of it all would be overwhelming but it would be easier to take step by step.
