Honoured and Sealed; Season 4 – Disease Prevention and Treatment

With the changing lifestyles, health concerns are a major threat to human life, yet they cannot be avoided. If the affluents in a society take the initiative to improve the awareness of disease prevention and treatment it would be a great cause. As Rotaractors, our main goal is to create a positive impact on the community. There are a lot of projects implemented by many Rotaract clubs every year driven with the same purpose. The awards for the disease prevention and treatment category had been introduced to appreciate the efforts of such clubs that were thriving for a good cause.

The gold, silver, and bronze awards under this category were won by Aarokkiyam by the Rotaract Club of Jaffna Midtown, Young at Heart by the Rotaract Club of IIT, and Kindred Kidneys by the Rotaract Club of the Alumni of University of Moratuwa respectively.

Gold – Project “Aarokkiyam” by the Rotaract Club of Jaffna Midtown

The Gold award under this category was won by the project Aarokkiyam by the Rotaract Club of Jaffna Midtown. Through this initiative medication and healthcare services were provided to hospitals and people. Accordingly, wheelchairs, beds, and other necessary surgical types of equipment were provided to the needy. The beneficiaries for this project were selected based on the requests received. The major highlight of this project was that it was a continuous project implemented throughout the year. The project had 10 phases where the medical necessities were supplied to patients, disabled, and needy hospitals as well. Due to its magnificent implementation and the overall impact created the project was able to secure the gold award under this category.Silver – Project “Young at Heart” by the Rotaract Club of IIT

The silver award under this category was won by the project Young at Heart by the Rotaract Club of IIT. The project was mainly addressing heart diseases and strokes. Under the project free medical consultation was provided to the underprivileged locals using well-renowned doctors within the country. Moreover, they were also able to deliver medicine worth millions to the underprivileged community. They were able to hold 2 clinics as well. The good news is that the project is continued for this RI year as well.

Bronze – Project “Kindred Kidneys” by the Rotaract Club of Alumni of University of Moratuwa

The project Kindred Kidneys of the Rotaract Club of Alumni of University of Moratuwa was awarded the bronze award under this category. This project was dedicated to chronic kidney patients in the Padaviya area. They visited the area, observed the situation, and took the initiative to install a RO machine for the use of the residents. The locals were provided clean water at a reasonable rate and the funds were directed towards maintenance of the same. Moreover, they also provided dialysis kits to the patients.

වෙනස් වන ජීවන රටාවත් සමඟ සෞඛ්‍ය ගැටලු මිනිස් ජීවිතයට විශාල තර්ජනයක් වී තිබේ. එහෙත් ඒවා මඟ හැරිය නොහැකි අතර කෙනෙකුට ඒ හරහා යාමට සිදුවනු ඇත. සමාජයක සිටින ධනවතුන් රෝග නිවාරණය සහ ප්‍රතිකාර පිළිබඳ දැනුවත්භාවය වැඩි දියුණු කිරීමට මූලිකත්වය ගන්නේ නම් එය මහඟු හේතුවකි. Rotaractors ලෙස අපගේ ප්‍රධාන අරමුණ වන්නේ ප්‍රජාව කෙරෙහි ධනාත්මක බලපෑමක් ඇති කිරීමයි. සෑම වසරකම එකම අරමුණක් ඇතිව බොහෝ රොටරැක්ට් සමාජ විසින් ක්‍රියාත්මක කරන ව්‍යාපෘති රාශියක් ඇත. රෝග නිවාරණ සහ ප්‍රතිකාර අංශය සඳහා සම්මාන හඳුන්වා දී තිබුණේ යහපත් අරමුණක් වෙනුවෙන් දියුණු වන එවැනි සමාජවල උත්සාහය අගය කිරීම සඳහා ය.

මෙම කාණ්ඩය යටතේ රන්, රිදී සහ ලෝකඩ සම්මාන පිළිවෙලින් Jaffna Midtown හි Rotaract සමාජයේ Aarokkiyam ව්‍යාපෘතිය විසින්ද, IIT හි රොටරැක්ට් සමාජයේ Young at Hearts ව්‍යාපෘතිය විසින්ද සහ මොරටුව විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ ආදි සිසුන්ගේ Rotaract සමාජයේ Kindred Kidneys ව්‍යාපෘතිය විසින්ද දිනා ගන්නා ලදී.

මෙම කාණ්ඩය යටතේ රන් සම්මානය Jaffna Midtown හි Rotaract සමාජයේ Aarokkiyam ව්‍යාපෘතිය විසින් දිනා ගන්නා ලදී. මෙම මුලපිරීම හරහා රෝහල්වලට සහ ජනතාවට ඖෂධ සහ සෞඛ්‍ය සේවා සපයන ලදී. ඒ අනුව රෝද පුටු, ඇඳන් සහ අවශ්‍ය වෙනත් ශල්‍ය උපකරණ වර්ග අවශ්‍යතා ඇති අයට ලබා දෙන ලදී. ලැබුණු ඉල්ලීම් අනුව මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය සඳහා ප්‍රතිලාභීන් තෝරා ගන්නා ලදී. මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතියේ ප්‍රධාන විශේෂත්වය වූයේ එය වසර පුරා ක්‍රියාත්මක අඛණ්ඩ ව්‍යාපෘතියක් වීමයි. මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය අදියර 10 කින් සමන්විත වූ අතර එහිදී රෝගීන්, ආබාධිත සහ අවශ්‍යතා ඇති රෝහල් සඳහා ද වෛද්‍ය අවශ්‍යතා සපයන ලදී. එහි විශිෂ්ට ලෙස ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීම සහ නිර්මාණය වූ සමස්ත බලපෑම හේතුවෙන් ව්‍යාපෘතියට මෙම කාණ්ඩය යටතේ රන් සම්මානය හිමි කර ගැනීමට හැකි විය.Silver – Project “Young at Heart” by the Rotaract Club of IIT

මෙම කාණ්ඩය යටතේ රිදී සම්මානය IIT හි Rotaract Club හි Young at Heart ව්‍යාපෘතිය විසින් දිනා ගන්නා ලදී. මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය ප්‍රධාන වශයෙන් හෘද රෝග සහ ආඝාත ආමන්ත්‍රණය කරන ලදී. ව්‍යාපෘතිය යටතේ දිවයිනේ කීර්තිමත් වෛද්‍යවරුන් යොදා ගනිමින් අඩු පහසුකම් සහිත ප්‍රදේශවාසීන්ට නොමිලේ වෛද්‍ය උපදේශන ලබා දෙන ලදී. එපමණක් නොව, වරප්‍රසාද ලත් ප්‍රජාවට මිලියන ගණනක් වටිනා ඖෂධ ලබා දීමට ද ඔවුන්ට හැකි විය. ඔවුන්ට සායන 2ක් ද පැවැත්වීමට හැකි විය. සුභාරංචිය නම් මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය මෙම RI වසර සඳහාද අඛණ්ඩව ක්‍රියාත්මක වීමයි.

Bronze – Project “Kindred Kidneys” by the Rotaract Club of Alumni of University of Moratuwa

මොරටුව විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ ආදි සිසුන්ගේ රොටරැක්ට් සමාජයේ Kindred Kidneys ව්‍යාපෘතිය මෙම අංශය යටතේ ලෝකඩ සම්මානයෙන් පිදුම් ලැබීය. Padaviya ප්‍රදේශයේ නිදන්ගත වකුගඩු රෝගීන් වෙනුවෙන් මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය දියත් කෙරුණි. ඔවුන් එම ප්‍රදේශයට ගොස් තත්ත්වය නිරීක්ෂණය කර ප්‍රදේශවාසීන්ගේ ප්‍රයෝජනය සඳහා RO යන්ත්‍රයක් සවි කිරීමට මූලිකත්වය ගෙන ඇත. ප්‍රදේශවාසීන්ට සාධාරණ මිලකට පිරිසිදු ජලය ලබාදුන් අතර ඒවා නඩත්තු කිරීම සඳහා මුදල් යොමු කරන ලදී. ඊට අමතරව ඔවුන් රෝගීන්ට රුධිර කාන්දු පෙරන කට්ටල ද ලබා දෙන ලදී.மாறிவரும் வாழ்க்கை முறையால், உடல்நலக் கவலைகள் மனித வாழ்க்கைக்கு பெரும் அச்சுறுத்தலாக உள்ளன. இருப்பினும், அவற்றைத் தவிர்க்க முடியாது, மேலும் ஒருவர் அதையே கடந்து செல்ல வேண்டும். ஒரு சமுதாயத்தில் வசதி படைத்தவர்கள் நோய் தடுப்பு மற்றும் சிகிச்சை பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்வை மேம்படுத்த முன்முயற்சி எடுத்தால் அது ஒரு பெரிய காரணமாக இருக்கும். ரோட்டராக்டர்களாக, சமூகத்தில் நேர்மறையான தாக்கத்தை உருவாக்குவதே எங்கள் முக்கிய குறிக்கோள். ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் பல ரோட்ராக்ட் கிளப்கள் ஒரே நோக்கத்துடன் செயல்படுத்தப்படும் திட்டங்கள் நிறைய உள்ளன. ஒரு நல்ல நோக்கத்திற்காக செழித்து வரும் இத்தகைய கழகங்களின் முயற்சிகளை பாராட்டி நோய் தடுப்பு மற்றும் சிகிச்சை பிரிவுக்கான விருதுகள் அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டன.

இந்தப் பிரிவின் கீழ் தங்கம், வெள்ளி மற்றும் வெண்கல விருதுகளை முறையே யாழ்ப்பாண நடுப்பகுதி Rotaract club மூலம் Aarokkiyam உம், IIT யின் Rotaract club மூலம் Young at Hearts, மற்றும் மொரட்டுவை பல்கலைக்கழக முன்னாள் மாணவர்களின் Rotaract club மூலம் Kindred kidney ஆகியவை முறையே வென்றன.

Silver – Project “Young at Heart” by the Rotaract Club of IIT

இந்த பிரிவின் கீழ் வெள்ளி விருதை ஐஐடியின் ரோட்ராக்ட் கிளப் Young at Heart என்ற திட்டத்தால் வென்றது. இந்த திட்டம் முக்கியமாக இதய நோய்கள் மற்றும் பக்கவாதம் ஆகியவற்றைக் குறிக்கிறது. இத்திட்டத்தின் கீழ், நாட்டிலுள்ள புகழ்பெற்ற மருத்துவர்களைப் பயன்படுத்தி, தாழ்த்தப்பட்ட உள்ளூர் மக்களுக்கு இலவச மருத்துவ ஆலோசனை வழங்கப்பட்டது. மேலும், பின்தங்கிய சமூகத்தினருக்கு மில்லியன் கணக்கான மதிப்பிலான மருந்துகளை வழங்கவும் அவர்களால் முடிந்தது. அவர்களால் இரண்டு கிளினிக்குகளையும் நடத்த முடிந்தது. இந்த RI ஆண்டிலும் திட்டம் தொடரும் என்பது மகிழ்ச்சியான செய்தி.

மொரட்டுவ பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் பழைய மாணவர்களின் Rotaract Club இன் Kindred Kidneys என்ற செயற்திட்டத்திற்கு இந்தப் பிரிவின் கீழ் வெண்கல விருது வழங்கப்பட்டது. இந்த திட்டம் பதவிய பிரதேசத்தில் நீண்டகால சிறுநீரக நோயாளர்களுக்காக அர்ப்பணிக்கப்பட்டது. அப்பகுதியை பார்வையிட்ட அவர்கள், நிலைமையை அவதானித்து, குடியிருப்புவாசிகளின் பயன்பாட்டிற்காக RO இயந்திரத்தை நிறுவ நடவடிக்கை எடுத்தனர். உள்ளூர் மக்களுக்கு நியாயமான விலையில் சுத்தமான குடிநீர் வழங்கப்பட்டு, அதை பராமரிக்க நிதி ஒதுக்கப்பட்டது. மேலும், நோயாளிகளுக்கு Dialysis கருவிகளையும் வழங்கினர்.Many thanks to all our fellow clubs and Rotaractors who shared their tales of victory with us.
