Center Stage – Rtr. Anuradha Senanayake

Rtr. Anuradha Senanayake is the District Rotaract Representative for the year 2017/18 of the RI District 3220 – Sri Lanka and Maldives. Being a product of the Rotaract Club of Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo, she is a true lady boss with a bubbly character which makes being around her, inspiring and motivating. 


What’s worth spending more on to get the best?
Time

If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning a medal for?
Over-thinking, does that count as an activity?

What is the luckiest thing that has happened to you?
My family and my District Committee which eventually have become my own family.

If you could make one rule that everyone had to follow, what rule would you make?
Can I make it two please? being punctual and to let go of things at the right time.
  
Who’s your go to band or artist when you can’t decide on something to listen to?
Well, I prefer to select songs based on lyrics and music. So, almost any Hindi song is fine with me. But, I am a huge fan of Sunil Perera, Neela Wickramasinghe, T. M. Jayarathne and Westlife.

Who inspires you to be better?

My Appachchi (father) and my Ammi. I never wanted to look up to someone else and be inspired when I have the best with me. Since my childhood I saw how passionately my Appachchi served the country. He taught me how important it is to earn people in life and that no matter how successful we are in life we should never forget to be truthful to ourselves and humble to others. My Ammi is the strongest lady I have ever come across in my life who taught me the real definition of love and family. 


If you could spend the whole day with a celebrity, who would it be?
Of course, Shah Rukh Khan. 



What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives?
Falling in love (With the wrong person maybe? 😉 )


If you had a clock that would countdown to any one event of your choosing, what event would you want it to countdown to?
My wedding! Just kidding. I like surprises, let’s keep it like that. 


What would be your first question after waking up from being cryogenically frozen for 100 years?
Oshadha, how far is it? (Well, it is a district inide joke :’) ) 


Where do you usually go when you have time off?
If it is out of Colombo, Nuwaraeliya Grand Hotel is my favorite place to relax. 

As the only human left on Earth, what would you do?
Will go back to sleep. 


What are the small things that make your day better?
Smile on my parents’ face, my pet cats (Bathalalya, T2 and Blacky who is actually white) and their constant dramatic attention seeking activities. Oh, and coffee and my playlist. 


Would you rather trade some intelligence for looks or looks for intelligence?
Intelligence, intelligence and intelligence. 


If you could only have one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Cheese pasta.
