Pastel Dots and Co. by 3 Munasinghe sisters is a virtual small business of hair accessories. Initially, they started making scrunchies for fun. Surprisingly, there was a huge demand coming from their cousins and friends in the neighborhood. The journey started to kill boredom, was converted to a business, and picked up sales during the quarantine.

‘The Cutie’ is a local brand that focuses on sustainable fashion and works towards a zero wastage concept to reduce industrial wastage. Chathurika Jayarathna, the owner of this eco-friendly business reveals that ‘The Cutie’ has an interesting inside story.

Chathurika started her business ‘The Cutie’ initially as a bookshop in 2014. It was a challenge to her because she comes from a background with very little knowledge on the business world, yet eventually, she gained a lot of experiences. After entering the university, she had to close down her bookshop but ultimately, she launched ‘The Cutie’ through online platforms as a fashion brand. This is how she started her online journey.

‘The Cutie’ mainly focuses on designing t-shirts, hair accessories, and dog bandanas. All products are made in Sri Lanka.
