Wander Spotlight – Episode 04; Pixel Bloom

Today, we’re excited to take you on a journey to one of the latest attractions in Colombo’s iconic Lotus Tower—Pixel Bloom.Pixel Bloom is a unique innovation that has been making waves since it opened at the beginning of this month. This immersive digital art experience is the first of its kind in South Asia, drawing over 10,000 visitors in just its first ten days. We couldn’t resist the urge to explore this futuristic spectacle. With tickets priced reasonably at Rs. 350 for adults and Rs. 200 for children, Pixel Bloom offers an accessible way for everyone to experience cutting-edge digital art. There’s also a combined ticket available for Rs. 850, which includes entry to both Pixel Bloom and the observation deck of the Lotus Tower.Pixel Bloom spans multiple levels, each with its own theme: Colombo Chronicles, The Tower, Beyond the Map, Pixel Fashion, Flutter Scope, Neon Jungle, and Pixel Kaleido. Each section offers a different facet of digital art, making for a diverse and engaging visit. Open from 9 am to 9 pm on weekdays and 9 am to 10 pm on weekends, Pixel Bloom is conveniently accessible to both locals and tourists. Our personal favorite was the Neon Jungle, where we had a blast trying to catch digital birds. Rtr. Ajini, was particularly excited about the toy train operating inside the Lotus Tower. While we convinced her that it might be more suitable for kids, her enthusiasm was infectious and added to our overall fun.We concluded our visit by grabbing some snacks in preparation for our next episode of the brunching series.
