Live a little love a little
We at RACUOCFMF celebrated the children’s day on the 30th of September 2017 with a group of very special young women and children, who asked for nothing but love. Despite being the victims of rape: an unthinkable crime which would surely take away the light from anyone’s life, these souls welcomed us with such warmth, dressed with a radiant smile and twinkling eyes, that we saw no choice but to shower with love, the little hope they hold on to.

The few hours spent with them listening to their stories, the stories about how their lives were changed forever in a matter of minutes, surely changed the way we looked at life. In return, we nourished their hope with the hope that it would be just enough to help them “live a little and love a little”.

Green Life

Dengue prevention program
The month of September started with us FMFers gathering to complete a part of our duty towards our own faculty. The members of the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo Faculty of Management and Finance gathered at the faculty premises on the 1st of September 2017 to clean the faculty premises and to make sure that all the possible dengue breeding grounds are being destroyed. Thus, taking our 1st step towards eradicating dengue: an epidemic which has taken away many of our loved ones. The members rightfully cleaned every nook and corner, all while having a little fun.

International Services

Share Care Smile
Being in line with the text book definition of International Services RACUOCFMF joined hands with more than 40 other Rotaract clubs spread across more than 20 districts and 5 countries to execute project Share Care Smile, a project initiated by the Rotaract Club of Hyderabad Himayath Nagar and was executed by all the clubs on the 21st of September 2017.

The project focused on collecting stationary items from students and distributing them among a set of less privileged students. To execute the project RACUOCFMF chose Vidyathilaka Vidyalaya – Colombo 05, a school situated in the heart of the country’s commercial capital. The warm smiles of the young students and their talents shown to us with so much pride filled the hearts of everyone who was present with love and joy.

R-Dosti
R-Dosti was an event organized to promote international understanding, relations, peace and harmony. Under the project videos were made by all the clubs joining in for the project, on other projects done across all the avenues focusing on literacy in commemoration of the Literacy Day. The videos were then shared among the clubs. The project thus highlighted the efforts of each and every country and the Rotaract movement in improving literacy across the globe.

Mind your manners
Mind your manners is a professional development project organized by RACUOCFMF with the motive of helping everyone in the Faculty of Management and Finance build their own personal brand by equipping them with the refined social graces, confidence, etiquette knowledge and polished appearance necessary to achieve their personal and professional goals.
