14th Installation Ceremony of Rotaract Club of University of Colombo Faculty of Management and Finance

The world cannot be made a better place without improving its individuals. With the hope of thriving for the same RACUOCFMF always takes charge to contribute to the betterment of the society by inculcating the traits of humanity within its members. To pave the way for the next RI year to unravel positivity all along, the 14th Installation Ceremony was held on the 27th of September. The event was held at the Disaster Management Center Auditorium from 6 p.m. onwards.

The proceedings for the day started by giving utmost priority to the traditional prospects. The distinguished penalty of invitees lit the traditional oil lamp and initiated the event. Subsequently, the house was called to order by the assistant treasurer Rtr. Theeksha Gunasinghe, proceedings were then taken up by Rtr. Uvini Abeysinghe for the Routine Rotaract Formalities, the flag salutation, Rotaract innovation, the Four Way test, and the Rotaract song.

The eminent panel of invitees and the gathering were then welcomed by Rtr. Binula Thalavinna, Co-chair of the installation. Followed by the grand welcome was the Secretary’s report for the RI year 2022-23, which was presented by the Outgoing Secretary Rtr. Samindi Weerakoon. She shared a summary of all the events which were accomplished during the year. This reflected all the efforts that were made day and night to make an impact on society. Moreover, it made all the Rotaractors indulge in the memories created, friendships made, and the experiences gained. Nevertheless, it boosted the confidence of fellow Rotaractors to step into the new RI year with more trust and faith. We always try to make the world a better place, but we won’t be successful at every step, yet we strive hard to do something every day that would result in a positive impact on everyone. The report was followed by a video compiled of all the memories that were shared during the year. It was a fun watch for all the rotaractors since it had it all. Everybody in the auditorium had a good laugh looking up at all the fun times they had during the year.RACUOCFMF has been an eminent club over the years not only because of one person, it was because of all its members who had thrived day and night to make the club a success. So well done Rotaractors! You deserve a pat on your back. Next, it was time for the outgoing president Rtr. Gajaba Senarathne to address his fellow Rotaractors for one last time. He started his final speech as the President for the year 2022-23 by mentioning that the profound lesson he learned was that a position of power comes naturally when we focus on doing what’s right and what’s necessary. He also highlighted that seeking power for its own sake can tarnish our reputation and that leadership is about service and responsibility and not something for personal gain. He proudly stated that Rotaract gave him invaluable knowledge and experience which he will be forever grateful for. He also stated that it was a full physical year after the pandemic which was very much tiring but undoubtedly rewarding. However, he did not forget to thank every individual who helped him to make his journey a success, His family for being his pillar of strength, and the Executive Committee for giving him the sense of strength to lead the club to new heights. And to The Board of Directors for their tireless efforts and for the numerous projects that made a significant impact on the community. Finally, he concluded his speech by leaving a note to the upcoming board to outdo his Presidentship and the Board of Directors to take the club to new heights and to improve the impact on the community, to themselves, and the whole Rotaract community.

The most anticipated parts of the day came next. Our incoming president, Rtr. Vishvi Wijetunge was more eager than anybody else in the audience to find out who had agreed to give her inaugural speech. To her surprise, it turned out to be Rtr. Melisha and one of the Outgoing Blog Team Member Rtr. Navodya. It was said that what a beautiful soul and a kind-hearted person Vishvi is and an amazing friend that anyone could ask for. Her dedication and hard work towards whatever she does would make her the most suitable individual for the next presidency. Upon the loud laughter, the more important and the most awaited moment of the day arrived, as Rtr. Vishvi Wijetunge was gracefully collared as the President of RACUOCFMF for the RI year 2023-24. The new journey that we just embarked upon would not begin as a gift with gorgeous ribbons and the promise of security; rather, it begins as an adventure with a little fog and cold. And thus, it takes the daring eyes to remain open to its curves and undulations, the brave feet to travel it, and the adventurous heart to grab it, that we believe Rtr. Vishvi Wijetunge is well capable of. So, we wish our dearest President, Rtr. Vishvi Wijetunge all the very best for the journey we just embarked upon!

Next up, the Incoming President, Rtr Vishvi Wijetunge. was on stage to address the gathering. Rtr Vishvi Wijetunge pledges to wholeheartedly commit herself to fulfilling all her responsibilities as the president of RACUOCFMF. She is determined to uphold the club’s esteemed reputation and follow in the footsteps of past presidents, ensuring a legacy of excellence.

Despite the formalities, FMFers are a cheerful group and, it goes without saying, that their schedules are always in sync. The talented musicians from our very own club were invited to perform live for the audience, and they undoubtedly lured all the enthusiastic people seated outside to join in a dance that they tightly controlled so that they would follow the rhythmic claps rather than resist. After a delightful evening filled with music, the Rotaract Chair for the District, Rtn. Sohan Perera, and the Chief Guest of the evening, Prof. Arosha Adikaram took the stage to thank everyone for their wonderful initiatives and efforts to improve the lives of the less fortunate. District Rotaract Representative Rtr. PP Sathma Jayasinghe also conveyed that she has witnessed firsthand how RACUOCFMF works hard and the positive impacts the club creates. She also specified that she has been secretly monitoring our club as well.How can we not be grateful for the help and direction we received to become who we are? A small gesture of gratitude was given to each of those incredible individuals for their support, and on behalf of the entire group of well-wishers, a congratulatory speech was delivered. The vote of thanks was given by Incoming Secretary Rtr. Melisha Gonaduwa did not neglect to express gratitude to everyone who had been presented that evening. After that, the day’s activities came to an end and Rtr. Vishvi Wijetunge, the incoming president, adjourned the RACUOCFMF’s annual installation ceremony.

However, that day’s conclusion marked the start of a new era! Congratulations to the Dream Teams of RACUOCFMF who exceeded all expectations in completing their purpose and who plan to carry on that tradition in the upcoming year. Cheers!

පුද්ගලයන් දියුණු නොකර ලෝකය යහපත් තැනක් කළ නොහැක. එම බලාපොරොත්තුව සමඟින් RACUOCFMF තම සාමාජිකයින් තුළ මනුෂ්‍යත්වයේ ගති ලක්ෂණ ඇති කරමින් සමාජයේ අභිවෘද්ධියට දායක වීමට සෑම විටම භාර ගනී. ඉදිරි RI වසර සඳහා සෑම විටම ධනාත්මක බව හෙළිදරව් කිරීම සඳහා, 14 වන Installation Ceremony සැප්තැම්බර් 27 වන දින පස්වරු 6.00 සිට ආපදා කළමනාකරණ මධ්‍යස්ථාන ශ්‍රවණාගාරයේදී පැවැත්විණි.

සාම්ප්‍රදායික අපේක්ෂාවන්ට උපරිම ප්‍රමුඛත්වය දෙමින් එදින කටයුතු ආරම්භ විය. සම්භාවනීය ආරාධිත අමුත්තන් විසින් සම්ප්‍රදායික පොල්තෙල් පහන දල්වා උත්සවය ආරම්භ කළේය. පසුව සහකාර භාණ්ඩාගාරික Rtr Theeksha Gunasinghe විසින් උත්සවය කැඳවන ලදී. ඉන් අනතුරුව Rtr Uvini Abeysinghe විසින් Routine Rotaract Formalities, කොඩි ආචාරය, Rotaract innovation, the Four Way test සහ Rotaract ගීතය ප්‍රකාශ කරන ලදී.අනතුරුව කීර්තිමත් ආරාධිත මණ්ඩලය සහ රැස්ව සිටි පිරිස පිළිගනු ලැබුවේ Rtr. Binula Thalavinna විසිනි. උත්කර්ෂවත් පිළිගැනීමෙන් අනතුරුව, 2022-23 RI වර්ෂය සඳහා ලේකම්වරයාගේ වාර්තාව, ලේකම් ධූරයට සමු දෙන Rtr. Samindi Weerakoon විසින් ඉදිරිපත් කරන ලදී. එහිදී වසර තුළ සිදු කරන ලද සියලුම සිදුවීම්වල සාරාංශයක් ඇය විසින් බෙදා ගත්තාය. සමාජයට බලපෑමක් කිරීමට දිවා රෑ නොබලා ගත් සියලු උත්සාහයන් මෙයින් පිළිබිඹු විය. එපමණක් නොව, එය සියලු රොටරැක්ටර්වරුන් නිර්මාණය කළ මතකයන්, ඇති කර ගත් මිත්‍රත්වයන් සහ ලබාගත් අත්දැකීම් මතකාවර්ජනය කිරීමට සැලැස්වීය. එසේම, එය වඩාත් විශ්වාසයකින් යුතුව නව RI වසරට පා තැබීමට සෙසු රොටරැක්ටර්වරුන්ගේ විශ්වාසය ඉහළ නැංවීය. අපි හැම විටම උත්සාහ කරන්නේ ලෝකය වඩා හොඳ තැනක් කිරීමටය, නමුත් එහි සෑම පියවරකදීම අපි සාර්ථක නොවනු ඇත, නමුත් සෑම දිනකම සෑම කෙනෙකුටම ධනාත්මක බලපෑමක් ඇති කරන දෙයක් කිරීමට අපි වෙහෙස මහන්සි වී සිටිමු. වාර්තාවෙන් පසුව වසර තුළ බෙදාගත් සියලු මතකයන් සම්පාදනය කරන ලද වීඩියෝවක් විය. එය සියලුම රොටරැක්ටර්වරුන් සඳහා විනෝදජනක නැරඹුමක් විය. ශ්‍රවණාගාරයේ සිටි සියල්ලෝම අවුරුද්දේ ගත කළ සියලු විනෝද අවස්ථා දෙස බලා සතුටින් සිනාසුණෝය.

RACUOCFMF වසර ගණනාවක් පුරා කීර්තිමත් සමාජයක් වූයේ එක් පුද්ගලයෙකු නිසා පමණක් නොව, සමාජය සාර්ථක කර ගැනීම සඳහා දිවා රාත්‍රී සමෘද්ධිමත් වූ එහි සියලුම සාමාජිකයින් නිසාය. ඉන්පසු, ධූරයට සමුදෙන සභාපති, Rtr. Gajaba Senarathne අවසන් වරට තම සහෝදර රොටරැක්ටර්වරුන් ඇමතීය. ඔහු 2022-23 වසර සඳහා සභාපති ලෙස සිය අවසන් කතාව ආරම්භ කළේ තමන් උගත් ගැඹුරු පාඩම නම්, හරි දේ කිරීමට සහ අවශ්‍ය දේ කිරීමට අවධානය යොමු කරන විට බලයක් නිරායාසයෙන්ම ලැබෙන බව සඳහන් කරමිනි. තමන් වෙනුවෙන් බලය සෙවීම අපගේ කීර්ති නාමයට කැළලක් විය හැකි බවත් නායකත්වය යනු සේවය සහ වගකීම මිස පුද්ගලික ලාභ ප්‍රයෝජන සඳහා ඇති දෙයක් නොවන බවත් ඔහු අවධාරණය කළේය. රොටරැක්ට් තමාට මිල කළ නොහැකි දැනුම සහ අත්දැකීම් ලබා දුන් බව ඔහු ආඩම්බරයෙන් ප්‍රකාශ කළ අතර ඔහු ඊට සදාකාලිකවම කෘතඥ වනු ඇත. වසංගතයෙන් පසු එය සම්පූර්ණ භෞතික වසරක් වූ බවත් එය ඉතා වෙහෙසකර නමුත් නිසැකවම ප්‍රතිලාභ දෙන බවත් ඔහු ප්‍රකාශ කළේය. කෙසේ වෙතත්, තම ගමන සාර්ථක කර ගැනීමට උපකාර කළ සෑම පුද්ගලයෙකුටම, තමාගේ ශක්තියේ කණුව වූ තම පවුලට සහ රොටරැක්ට් සමාජය නව තලයකට ගෙන යාමට ශක්තිය ලබා දුන් විධායක කමිටුවට ස්තූති කිරීමට ඔහු අමතක නොකළේය. එසේම, වෙහෙස නොබලා දරන ලද උත්සාහයන්ට සහ ප්‍රජාවට සැලකිය යුතු බලපෑමක් ඇති කළ ව්‍යාපෘති රාශියක් සඳහා අධ්‍යක්ෂක මණ්ඩලයටත් ස්තූති කළේය. අවසාන වශයෙන්, ඔහු තම කතාව අවසන් කළේ තම සභාපතිත්වය සහ අධ්‍යක්ෂ මණ්ඩලය අභිබවා සමාජය නව තලයකට ගෙන යාමට සහ ප්‍රජාවට, තමන්ට සහ සමස්ත රොටරැක්ට් ප්‍රජාවට ඇති බලපෑම වැඩිදියුණු කිරීමට එළඹෙන මණ්ඩලයට සටහනක් තබමිනි.

Vishvi Wijetunge ප්‍රේක්ෂකාගාරයේ සිටි අන් සියල්ලන්ටම වඩා උනන්දු වූයේ ඇයගේ සමාරම්භක දේශනය කිරීමට එකඟ වූයේ කවුරුන්ද යන්න සොයා බැලීමටය. ඇය පුදුමයට පත් කරමින්, ඒ Rtr. Melisha සහ බ්ලොග් කණ්ඩායමේ හිටපු සාමාජිකයෙකු වන Rtr. Navodya බවට පත් විය. Rtr. Vishvi කෙතරම් සුන්දර, කරුණාවන්ත හදවතක් ඇති, ඕනෑම කෙනෙක්ට ලැබීමට සුදුසු පුදුම යාළුවෙක් බව ඔවුන්ගේ ප්‍රකාශ තුළට ඇතුළත් විය. කරන ඕනෑම දෙයක් සඳහා ඇයගේ කැපවීම සහ වෙහෙස මහන්සිය උපරිමයෙන් ලබා දීම මීළඟ සභාපති ධුරයට ඇයව සුදුසුම පුද්ගලයා බවට පත් කරනු ඇත. මහ හඬින් සිනහව මත, ලෙස දවසේ වඩාත් වැදගත් සහ වඩාත්ම බලා සිටි මොහොත පැමිණියේය, Rtr. Vishvi Wijetunge RACUOCFMF හි සභාපතිතුමිට ලෙස ඇයගේ සියලු වගකීම් ඉටු කිරීමට මුළු හදවතින්ම කැපවන බවට පොරොන්දු වූවාය. සමාජයේ ගෞරවාන්විත කීර්තිය ආරක්ෂා කිරීමටත්, හිටපු සභාපතිවරුන්ගේ අඩිපාරේ යමින් විශිෂ්ටත්වයේ උරුමය සහතික කිරීමට ඇය අධිෂ්ඨාන කරගෙන ඇත.

ඇය සිය කතාව අවසන් කරමින් 2023-24 RI වර්ෂය සඳහා විධායක කමිටුව සහ අධ්‍යක්ෂ මණ්ඩලය හඳුන්වා දුන් ලදී. විධායක කමිටුව සහ අධ්‍යක්ෂ මණ්ඩලය වේදිකාව මත අභිමානවත් ලෙස සිටගෙන සිටියේ, සමාජය තවත් ඉහළට ඔසවා තැබීමේ අධිෂ්ඨානය සමඟ ආශාවේ රොකට් ඉන්ධනය සමඟිනි. එනම්, ඔබ ඔබට වඩා විශාල දෙයක් සඳහා ස්වේච්ඡාවෙන් ඉදිරිපත් වන විට, එය අන් අයට යහපතක් ගෙන දේ. ඉන්පසුව, වසරේ අන්තර්ගතයට වගකියන කණ්ඩායම් වන Editorial කණ්ඩායම සහ Blog කණ්ඩායම පසුව වේදිකාවට හඳුන්වා දෙන ලදී.

විධිවිධාන තිබුණද, FMF ප්‍රීතිමත් කණ්ඩායමක් වන අතර, ඔවුන්ගේ කාලසටහන් සැමවිටම සමමුහුර්තව පවතින බව නොකියයි. ප්‍රේක්ෂකයින් සඳහා සජීවීව ප්‍රසංග කිරීමට අපේම සමාජයේ දක්ෂ ගායකයින්ට ආරාධනා කරන ලද අතර, ඔවුන් ප්‍රේක්ෂකාගාරයේ වාඩි වී සිටි සියලුම උද්යෝගිමත් ප්‍රේක්ෂකයන් නිසැකවම නර්තනයකට ආකර්ෂණය කර ගත් අතර, එවිට ඔවුහු රිද්මයානුකූල අත්පුඩි අනුගමනය කළහ. සංගීතයෙන් පිරුණු ප්‍රීතිමත් සන්ධ්‍යාවකින් පසු, දිස්ත්‍රික්කය සඳහා රොටරැක්ට් පුටුව, Rtn. Sohan Perera, සහ සන්ධ්‍යාවේ ප්‍රධාන ආරාධිත අමුත්තා වූ Prof. Arosha Adikaram වේදිකාවට ගොඩ වූයේ අඩු ආදායම්ලාභී ජීවිත නඟා සිටුවීමට ගත් අපූරු මුලපිරීම් සහ ප්‍රයත්නයන් වෙනුවෙන් සැමට ස්තූති කිරීමටය. දිස්ත්‍රික් රොටරැක්ට් නියෝජිත Rtr. PP Sathma Jayasinghe, RACUOCFMF වෙහෙස මහන්සි වී ක්‍රියා කරන ආකාරය සහ සමාජය නිර්මාණය කරන ලද ධනාත්මක බලපෑම් තමන් සියැසින් දුටු බව ප්‍රකාශ කළාය. ඇය අපේ සමාජය අවධානයෙන් නිරීක්ෂණය කර ඇති බවද ඇය සඳහන් කළාය.අපි, අප බවට පත්වීමට අපට ලැබුණු උපකාර සහ මඟ පෙන්වීමට අප කෘතඥ නොවන්නේ කෙසේද? එම එක් එක් ඇදහිය නොහැකි පුද්ගලයන්ගේ සහයෝගය වෙනුවෙන් කෘතඥතාවක් පිරිනමන ලද අතර, සමස්ත සුභ පතන්නන් කණ්ඩායම වෙනුවෙන්, සුබපැතුම් කතාවක් පවත්වන ලදී. ස්තුති කතාව කරන ලද්දේ අපගේ නව ලේකම් Rtr. Melisha Gonaduwa විසිනි. එදින සවස පැමිණි සිටි සියල්ලන්ට සිය කෘතඥතාව පළ කිරීමට ඇය අතපසු කළේ නැත. ඉන් පසු දවසේ කටයුතු අවසන් වූ අතර නව සභාපතිතුමිය වන Rtr. Vishvi Wijetunge විසින් RACUOCFMF හි වාර්ෂික ස්ථාපන උත්සවය නිමා කරමින් මීළඟ රැස්වීම තෙක් කල් තැබීය.

කෙසේ වෙතත්, එම දිනයේ අවසානය නව යුගයක ආරම්භය සනිටුහන් කළේය! තම අරමුණ සම්පූර්ණ කිරීමේදී සියලු අපේක්ෂාවන් ඉක්මවා ගිය සහ ඉදිරි වසර තුළ එම සම්ප්‍රදාය ඉදිරියට ගෙන යාමට අදහස් කරන RACUOCFMF හි සිහින කණ්ඩායම වෙත සුබ පැතුම්. චියර්ස්!
