The beginning of a New Year is brimmed with ample of new hopes, loads of happiness followed by spectacular fireworks and merrymaking. We at RACUOCFMF kick-started the new year with the aspiration to spread grace. We embarked on this beautiful journey – Benevolence as the second phase of Mission Compassion on the 9th of January, 2021 focusing on a special group of individuals who deserve unconditional love and much solicitude.
අළුත් අවුරුද්දක ආරම්භය හා නව බලාපොරොත්තු රාශියකින් සිත් සතුටින් පිරී ඉතිරී යනවිට RACUOCFMF හි අපි විසින් කරුණාව ව්යාප්ත කිරීමේ අභිලාෂය ඇතිව මේ වසර ආරම්භ කිරීමට අදිටන් කළෙමු.
கருணையை பரப்பும் உறுதி நோக்கத்துடன் இந்த ஆண்டை RACUOCFMF ஆரம்பித்துள்ளது.
Benevolence was held with the motive of spreading the warmth of kindness to the innocent hearts at the Hendala Leprosy Hospital. Even though these elders were cured of the Leprosy disease, due to the negative attitude towards the leper community many were abandoned by their loved ones. Hence, we embraced the mission of showing them the power of a benevolent heart.
Due to the prevailing pandemic, it was our duty to put safety and health first, hence organizing an interactive event was out of our scope. With that concern, the club planned to visit the elders and donate a set of essential items. Accordingly, the team was able to attain a list of necessary items from the relevant authorities which paved way for the donation collecting process. Without a doubt, many contributed to this act of kindness showing off their benevolent and humane nature. In conclusion, the team was able to raise more than what was budgeted. Material donations were also received by a generous donor – Heshdoodles!

Project Committee Treasurer – Rtr. Udeshi Ganegoda purchased and packed the donating items to be handed over to the hospital. Eventually, the day to visit the elders came by where Rtr. Udeshi and Rtr. Randika Sandaruwan represented the team and took the responsibility of handing over the donations. The welcoming atmosphere in the hospital and the excited staff were indeed able to bring a wholesome feeling to the members. Following the formalities, the members were guided to the ward where they were fortunate enough to witness the hopeful eyes of the elders. Even though the day was gloomy due to the rain shower and thunder, the grateful smiles on their faces brightened the day like no other. With the help of the Warden at the place, the members were able to personally hand over the donations where they showed gratitude by word and greeted them for the New Year. Before bidding farewell, the members were able to have a little chat with the elders where they realized how inspirational and wise the innocent souls really were. As per the visiting member’s words, “Their placid nature made our hearts at ease and we were able to understand what kindness truly is”
මෙම උතුම් කර්තව්යය සමගම අපගේ නව පරිච්ඡේදය කරුණාවන්ත ක්රියාවෙන් පිරුණු පිටුවකින් ආරම්භ කිරීමට අපට හැකි විය.
We at RACUOCFMF were able to start off our new chapter with a page filled with sheer kindness. It was truly a blessing to start this New Year with such inspirational souls. Thank You to all who joined hands to make this project possible. Your contribution to their happiness manifested the true meaning of Benevolence. It was indeed a Compassionate Mission!
