“King Spin 2.0”, a Bowling Tournament organized by the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo Faculty of Management and Finance, was held on the 15th of October 2017, at the Excel World Bowling Lounge. The preceding project “King Spin 1.0”, was awarded the Gold Award for the Most Outstanding Finance project for the year 2016/17 by the Rotaract District 3220 at the 27th Rotaract District Assembly.
“King Spin 2.0” being one of the most awaited events of the year, managed to gather an amazing crowd of Rotaractors as well as Non-Rotaractors who enjoyed each and every spectacular moment of the event. It was an event which provided the opportunity to all Rotaractors in various clubs to mix, mingle and enjoy the day along with some healthy competition.
The day began with the energetic preparation of the members of RACUOCFMF in order to provide the opportunity to all participants to enjoy a good game of bowling. The careful planning of all the teams lead to quite a competition among the teams, where only 8 teams were qualified for the final round. It was indeed a very tough competition and only the best of the best teams managed to make their way through to the finals.
Finally, the most experienced teams managed to secure their places as follows;
- First Place: Team RBCS – 594 points
- Second Place: Team Mid Town – 590 points
- Third Place: Team Mid Town Bisons – 497 points
We believe all participants regardless of winning or losing, enjoyed every moment of the tournament as it was a day filled with wonderful memories that would be cherished for a life time.
The participation of all the teams is much appreciated by the club as the funds of this project would be utilized for “Future for Us”, a community service project which would be carried out in 3 phases where phase one, a workshop on soft skills and motivation will be carried out for students in a school in Hatharaliyadda. Phase two will include providing infrastructure to a less privileged school, which will in turn assist the school in providing better facilities to its students to brighten their future. As the final phase, a program will be organized to develop the aesthetic skills of the students of a selected school.
Therefore the members of RACUOCFMF put their heart and soul to make this event as memorable as possible, by adding a session which captured the attention of all the participants. “Spinnerang” was a boomerang competition held along with the bowling tournament in order to further boost the enthusiasm of the participants. The energy and creativity of the winning team,”Nagoda Boys”, enabled them in receiving the most number of likes for their boomerang.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thank you to all the participants who showcased a great level of enthusiasm and made King Spin 2.0 one of the most remarkable events of the year. We hope to see more participants at King Spin 3.0 and we ensure that it would be bigger, better and more exciting.
All in all, “King Spin 2.0” was a team effort of all the club members, as we believe in the saying, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much”.
