The Rotaract Club of Faculty of Arts marked off another spectacular year with their 13th Installation Ceremony which was held on the 29th of September in New Arts Theater, of the University of Colombo from 6.30 pm onwards. The occasion was graced by the Chief Guest, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Lasantha Manawadu and Guest of Honour for the day was District Rotaract Chair Rtn. PP Farzana Khan. Representing RACUOCFMF, Rtr. Michelle Ketagoda, Rtr. Dilsha Basnayaka, Rtr. Gayathri Jayasundera, Rtr. Navodya, Rtr. Bulathsinhala, Rtr. Nethmini , Rtr. A.D.M.H. Fernando, Rtr. Beed Stefan, Rtr. Sanduni Nisansala made appearance to witness the glorious ceremony of RAC University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts.
The Installation Ceremony commenced after the house was called to order by the Outgoing President Rtr. Anudi Karunarathne, which was then followed by the Conventional Rotaract Formalities; Flag Salutation, Rotaract Invocation, and Four-way test. Next, a moment of silence was held to remember one of our past Rotaractor of University of Peradeniya, Rtr. Anjana Kulatunga who passed away recently, which was then followed by the Rotaract song.
Next, a recap video of the projects that were completed by the Rotaract club for the RI year 2021-2022 was displayed to the audience. Following the video, the secretary’s report was addressed by the Rtr. Dulari Bookoladeniya. She stated that they commenced the 12th year of service on the 01st of July 2021 under the theme “Leading with empathy and spirit” and highlighted how they were able to successfully complete 35 projects in total. Moreover, 12 initiatives were carried out by the club avenue which mostly focused on membership development and engagement. She expressed her gratitude for the club members and bid a job well done for her past board.
Next the Outgoing President, Rtr. Anudi Karunarathne shared her thoughts with the audience as the President of Rotaract Club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts. She thanked all the members who contributed in all ways to making the club where it is today.
Then, the Incoming President, Rtr. Gethmi Adikari was introduced by his fellow Rotaractors. After her introduction, she shared her thoughts with the audience explaining her new plans for the club and her excitement to work along with all the members as the president. Next she was gracefully collared as the President of Rotaract club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts for the year 2022-2023. Afterwards, the Executive Committee and the Board of Members for the RI year 2022-23 was introduced with utmost pleasure.

On the lineup, District Rotaract Representative Rtn. Rtr. PP Ahamed Hussain, District Rotaract Chair Rtn. PP Farzana Khan. and the Past president of Rotary club of Colombo Uptown Rtn. Vishva Lokugamage was invited to address the gathering. They appreciated the club for the tremendous number of projects done throughout the year amidst the pandemic situation and ongoing crisis and wished for a successful year ahead. Also, they congratulated for all the outstanding achievements that the club has achieve so far. Following this, the dignitaries were presented with tokens of appreciation.
Moving on, a harmonious medley of Sinhala songs were performed by the fellow Rotaractors adding more color to the event. Marking a new milestone, the 13th Installation Ceremony of Rotaract Club of University of Colombo faculty of Arts came to an end with the felicitations done by the Rotaractors who represented their clubs. Marking the end of the proceedings, the Vote of Thanks was given by the Incoming Secretary, Rtr. Tharushika Peelikumbura which was followed by fellowship and refreshments.
