On the 29th of December, some of us FMF-ers were having post-exam blues while some were overwhelmed with pre-exam anxiety and were so ready to grab any opportunity to dance the stress away. P.S. Yes, How favorable it was partying before the exams because that’s just us.
That’s when we came across “A not so silent night”, the annual Christmas party of RACUOCFMF, which happened to be held at the Lions Activity Center.
RACUOCFMF இன் வருடாந்த கிறிஸ்மஸ் கொண்டாட்ட நிகழ்வான “A not so silent night”, 2021, டிசம்பர் 29ம் திகதி லயன்ஸ் செயற்பாட்டு மையத்தில் நடைபெற்றது. களிப்பு மிக்க இந்நிகழ்வு மாலை 6 மணிக்கு துவங்கியது. வெகு விமர்சையாக அலங்கரிக்கப்பட்ட அவ்விடத்தில் அனைவரும் புகைப்படங்கள் எடுத்து மகிழ்ந்ததை தொடர்ந்து, கழக IPP ஆமினா இஸ்மாயில் கடந்த வருடம் எமது கழகம் பெற்ற விருதுகளை வழங்கினார். அடுத்து கழகத்தின் கடந்த மற்றும் தற்போதைய மன்ற அங்கத்தவர்கள் களைப்படையும் வரை நடனமாடி மகிழ்ந்தனர். அங்கத்தவர்கள் இன்னும் களிப்படையும் வகையில் இசை நாற்காலி விளையாட்டும் நடைபெற்றது. அதனை தொடர்ந்து அருமையான விருந்தொன்று அனைவருக்கும் பகிரப்பட்டது. இறுதியாக, எமது கழகத்தின் பல பாடக பாடகிகளும், தமது இசையின் மூலம் அவ்விரவை இன்னும் அழகாக்கினர். கொரோனா வைரஸ் பரவலினால் சோர்ந்து போன கழக அங்கத்தவர்களுக்கு இது ஒரு உற்சாகமூட்டும் நிகழ்வாக இருந்ததில் எவ்வித ஐயமும் இல்லை. இந்நிகழ்வை சிறந்த முறையில் ஏற்பாடு செய்த கடந்த மன்ற உறுப்பினர்களுக்கு பாராட்டுக்கள் அனைத்தும் சாரும்.
“A not so silent night “, RACUOCFMF හි වාර්ෂික නත්තල් සාදය දෙසැම්බර් 29 වන දින සිංහ ක්රියාකාරකම් මධ්යස්ථානයේදී පැවැත්විණි. සියලුම සාමාජිකයින් විනෝදාත්මක ක්රියාකාරකම් වලින් පිරුණු රාත්රිය භුක්ති විඳි අතර නත්තල් ප්රීති ඝෝෂාවෙන් එය පිරී ගියේය! ලැප් ටොප් තිරයෙන් ඔබ්බට පැමිණ එතෙක් විඳින්නට නොහැකි වූ නිහඬ රැයක ප්රීතිමත් ඝෝෂාව RACUOCFMF හි ප්රධාන චරිතවලට අත්විඳින්නට ‘A Not So Silent Night’ ව්යාපෘතිය තුළින් අවස්ථාව උදා විය. අලුත් මතකයන් නිර්මාණය කරමින් ඒවා ඡායාරූපය ලෙස එක්රැස් කරමින් සෑම මොහොතක් පාසාම විනෝදයෙන් ගෙවී ගියේ කන් දෙදරවන සංගීතයත් දෙපය ගෙවීයන නර්තනයත් සමග එම රැයේ නිසැකවම නිහඬ නොවන රැයක් කරමිනි. පසුගිය වසරේ කැපී පෙනෙන ඉදිරිපත් කිරීම් අගය කරනු වස් ලද සම්මාන IPP ආමිනා ඉස්මායිල් විසින් පිරිනමන ලදී. තවද රාත්රී භෝජනයක් නැති නත්තල් සාදයක් සම්පූර්ණ නොවන බව දන්නා හෙයින් ඒ අංගයද ඉතාමත් රසවත් ව සංවිධානය කර නත්තල් සාදයක සැබෑ සැමරුම් සොබාවය සැමට අත්විදින්නට අවස්ථාව සලසා දෙමින් රැය කෙමෙන් නිමා විය.
The promising event was to begin at 6.00 p.m. and as usual our beloved president “Responsible Arshad” was late for the party. However, we can’t blame him for getting late as he had to pick up the essential hot battered mushrooms on his way to the party. With the help of our fellow mates, the venue got wonderfully & Christmasily decorated just to party all night.
It was really great to see the familiar faces, especially not virtually trapped in our laptop screens, It was much lively to go all crazy getting back together physically.
Now I may not remember everything that happened, but let me walk you through it…
Like any other day, First of all, we got pictures capturing the joyous moment, as we were skeptical about the way we might look as the night gets older. The venue was bright and lit, both literally and figuratively. Literally, because it felt like we were walking in twinkle town and figuratively, well, because it truly was a lit event. It was quite the Insta friendly environment to get pictures with the people we were missing for some time.
Next, our IPP Aamina Ismail gave out the awards which the club was awarded last year for the outstanding performance it had done within the period.
It was the right time for the zestful FMF-ers to rock around, a bunch of Rotaractors were ready to sway the night from the outgoing board and from the incoming board, who perhaps never met before physically due to the virtual meetups caused by the pandemic. Given that it was the holiday season, late into December when everyone was looking forward to the new year with a pile of new expectations, the timing was just perfect to have a great time getting to know each other.
Let’s just say that sometimes a Bluetooth speaker can do marvels in providing us with funky music which demanded us to jump up and dance to our heart’s content. We danced and danced till our feet go numb and some of us never needed them anyway.
Thankfully we got a small break to catch our breath as it was time for musical chairs. However, it was not so musical as the contestants were too competitive that they dragged the chairs with them and some almost broke their spines while trying to sit on the chairs.
Then a scrumptious dinner was served to make the night more appealing.
At the edge of the night, our talented singers mesmerized us with their voices keeping us all entertained. It was the perfect end to a not so silent night as there was never a moment of silence from the beginning to the end.
Finally, A huge thank should go to the outgoing board for organizing such a wonderful Christmas party and bringing people together, reminding them how much they have missed it all due to the pandemic. Kudos to the organizing committee for lifting up the Christmas spirit.
It was never a silent night, but a night filled with the joy of Christmas.
