6th Installation Ceremony of Rotaract Club of Colombo Central

The Rotaract Club of Colombo Central recently celebrated a significant milestone in its journey with their 6th Installation Ceremony which was held on the 17th of September at Royal College Union Skills Centre from 1.00 pm onwards. Representing the RACUOCFMF Rtr. Shenaya and Rtr. Ajini joined the ceremony to witness the beginning of the novel era. The installation was commenced after the house was called to order by the Sergent-At-Arms for the year 23-24, Rtr. Janith Dissanayake which was then followed by the Routine Rotaract formalities; The Flag Salutation, Rotaract Invocation, Four-Way Test and Rotaract song.

Following the cordial welcome of all who joined the ceremony, the secretary’s report for the RI year 2022-23 was presented stating that they are overjoyed to share the successful project completions achieved throughout the RI year, and also expressed appreciation to everyone who contributed to the club’s success.Next, the Outgoing President Rtr. Prasadie Karunarathne addressed the gathering for one last time as the President and expressed her sincere gratitude for the unwavering support of his club members for their dedication and commitment throughout the journey. She gave a valuable speech about leadership stating that “Leadership is not pleasing everyone. Leadership is about taking top decisions for a greater move”. She winded up her speech by passing sincere wishes to the Incoming President and her board to take the club to greater heights. Next up, the Incoming President Rtr. Esini Peiris was introduced by the Vice President for the year 23-24 Rtr. Sachindra Mendis, as an outgoing, humorous but also a very strong person with great leadership skills.Then the most anticipated moment of the day arrived as the Outgoing President, Rtr. Prasadie Karunarathne gracefully collared Rtr. Esini Peiris as the 6th president of the Rotaract Club of Colombo Central for the RI year 2023-24. Following that, the Incoming President addressed the gathering by sharing her amazing journey throughout Rotaract and also emphasizing that Rotaract is not a waste of time but it’s a place where you can gather knowledge, experience and friends. Afterwards, the Board of Members for the RI year 2023-24 were introduced.

Janith Dissanayake skillfully played the guitar. Both of them combined their talents to create a harmonious and collaborative musical experience. Afterwards, the District Rotaract Representative, Rtr. PP. Sathma Jayasinghe addressed the gathering, which was then followed by the speech of the Chief Guest Rtn. Keerthi De Silva, Both of them appreciated the service of the club and how the club connected with society and the rest of the Rotaract community.This was followed by presenting the tokens of appreciation for the chief guests and the vote of thanks was delivered by the joint secretary for the year 23- 23, Rtr. Nishakya Liyanarachchi while concluding the ceremonial proceedings and leaving the stage for felicitations.The Rotaract Club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Management and Finance (RACUOCFMF) would like to extend its warm wishes to Rtr. Esini Peiris and her Board for their upcoming journey they just embarked upon.
