On the 13th of July 2024, the Leo Youth Centre buzzed with anticipation as the Rotaract club of University of Colombo, faculty of management and finance held its annual transition meeting. Starting at 10 AM, the event marked a significant milestone, featuring the appointment of a new board of directors and executive members. The meeting was not only a platform for administrative changes but also an opportunity to celebrate the outstanding contributions of past board members. The event was graced by the presence of past board members who were acknowledged for their dedication and exemplary work. The newly appointed board of directors and executive members were also in attendance, ready to embark on their new roles and responsibilities. 
The meeting agenda served as a roadmap for the event, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition process. It likely included key items such as:
- Rotaract Formalities: The meeting commenced with the standard formalities, setting a professional tone for the proceedings.
- Address by the Outgoing President: The outgoing president thanked the board of directors, highlighting the main projects they successfully completed such as Sisuwara, What Next, and Hadee Veena. Special mentions were made to Gajaba Aiyya and the secretary for their unwavering support.
- Address by the Outgoing Secretary: The outgoing secretary emphasized the importance of maintaining the spirit of tension and growth within the club.
- Collaring of the Incoming President: A ceremonial collaring marked the official appointment of the new president, a moment filled with emotion and significance.
- Address by the Incoming President: With a face full of tears, the incoming president thanked the outgoing president and secretary for their guidance. She articulated her goals of fellowship and sustainability, aiming to introduce at least two projects in each avenue. She also introduced the new Vice Presidents and board of directors.
- Speeches by Rtr. PP Gajaba Seneratne and Rtr. Samindi Weerakoon: Rtr. Gajaba congratulated the new board and addressed the past year’s achievements, emphasizing the importance of networking.
- Vote of Thanks: The incoming secretary expressed gratitude to everyone for their service over the past year, concluding the formal proceedings.
By following this structured agenda, the meeting facilitated a clear and organized transfer of leadership, allowing both past and present members to understand their roles and the direction of the Club. 
One of the highlights of the meeting was the formal appointment of the new board of directors and executive members. This significant shift in leadership was met with enthusiasm and optimism, setting the stage for the club’s future endeavors. The newly appointed board outlined ambitious plans focusing on community engagement, youth development, and expanding the club’s outreach. The incoming president, Rtr. Kaveesha, delivered a heartfelt speech that captivated the audience. With a blend of humility and determination, she emphasized the club’s core values and envisioned a future focused on fellowship, sustainability, and impactful community projects. Her ambitious goals included introducing at least two projects within each avenue, demonstrating an eagerness to make a positive difference. The attendees were visibly moved by the president’s words, resonating with her vision for the future. Applause and nods of agreement punctuated her speech, reflecting the collective support and enthusiasm for the new leadership. The transition meeting concluded on a high note, with members looking forward to the promising future under the new leadership. 
The Rotaract club’s Annual transition meeting was a resounding success. It marked a new era for the club, built upon the strong foundation laid by past members. With a dedicated and passionate new team at the helm, the club is well-positioned to propel itself forward, leveraging the knowledge and experience of its past leaders while embracing fresh perspectives and innovative approaches. This combination of tradition and progress ensures that the Rotaract club of University of Colombo faculty of Management and Finance will continue to be a beacon of service and youth development in the community for years to come.
