The Rotaract Club of Heritage recently celebrated its 12th installation ceremony on August 24th, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. The event began with the timeless ritual of lighting the oil lamp at 2:46 p.m. and lasted for three hours, featuring various entertaining segments. Rtr. Ranuja Seethawaka called the house to order, setting the tone for a series of heartfelt moments. The assembly stood for the national anthem and the Rotaract song, honoring the tradition and unity.
The installation ceremony celebrated the contributions of past, present, and future Rotaractors, highlighting their ongoing commitment to the club. Unity and team spirit were emphasized as key factors in their success and achievements. 
The outgoing Secretary, Rtr. Tharushi Subasinghe, presented the annual report, noting that the club completed 39 projects, covering all Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Rotary focus areas. She emphasized that their focus was not on the quantity but the quality of these projects. Additionally, she proudly announced that the club’s membership had grown from 45 to 94 members. 
The spotlight then turned to Rtr. Sandaru Munasinghe, the immediate past president for the year 2022-2023. In his heartfelt speech, he expressed deep gratitude to the many individuals who supported him throughout his journey. He thanked everyone who stood by him, both during times of achievement and in challenging moments. Rtr. Sadaru Munasinghe smoothly handed over the reins to the incoming president, Rtr. Vimasha Weerawansha, officially marking the beginning of her term as President of the Rotaract Club of Colombo Heritage for the Rotaract Year 2024-2025.

Following a remarkable performance, Rtr. PHF. PP. Shanel Mendis took the stage to address the audience. He began by commending the former president, Sandaru Munasinghe, and his dedicated team for their outstanding leadership, particularly for successfully inducting 15 new Rotaractors into the club. Rtr. Shanel Mendis also emphasized the importance of balancing service with enjoyment, reminding everyone that without taking time to enjoy life and finding happiness within, it becomes difficult to spread joy to others. His message was a heartfelt reminder of the value of maintaining a positive and fulfilling experience as a Rotaractor.
Then Chief Guest, Rtr. Sudarshani Jayasiri, President of the Rotary Club of Colombo Heritage, delivered an inspiring address to the gathering. She began by congratulating the newly appointed president and the board of Directors, acknowledging their commitment and dedication to the Rotary cause. 
In her speech, she highlighted the significance of being a Rotaractor, emphasizing the importance of leadership, service, and teamwork. She spoke passionately about the value of leading with integrity and purpose, and how facing challenges together strengthens both individuals and the organization as a whole.
Afterwards, The Guest of Honor Rtr. Nimesha Jayamanne extended heartfelt wishes to the newly appointed president, Rtr. Vimasha Weerawansha. She expressed confidence in her leadership and wished her the best of luck in guiding the club forward. The Guest of Honor also encouraged the newly appointed president to aim for even greater achievements in the future, inspiring everyone with their optimism for the club’s continued success under her leadership.
Following the speeches, Rtr. Vimasha Weerawansha took the stage to present Tokens of Appreciation to the special guests, recognizing their attendance at this significant event. 
The newly appointed Secretary, Rtr. Akarshana Premkumar, was invited to deliver the Vote of Thanks. She expressed deep gratitude to everyone who had contributed to the success of the past year’s projects and extended her thanks to all the invitees for joining in the celebration of this momentous event.
