A New Chapter Unfolds:Transition Meeting 2025

The Leo Youth Centre shimmered with energy and heartfelt moments as the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo Faculty of Management and Finance gathered for its much-awaited Annual Transition Meeting.Starting at 11 AM, the evening celebrated both legacy and new beginnings, a perfect blend of gratitude, pride, and promise.

With the formalities setting a respectful tone the national anthem, flag salutation, invocation, and Rotaract song members united in spirit before diving into the reflections of an incredible year gone by.

A Year to Remember

Outgoing President Rtr. Kaveesha Dodanthenna took the stage to deliver a heartfelt address, reflecting on a year packed with milestones, memories, and meaningful connections. Her words echoed pride as she recounted signature projects like Sisuwara, What Next, Hadee Veena, and the club’s powerful footprint across all avenues. Recognition also flowed toward her dynamic team, with special appreciation to Secretary Rtr. Shenaya Fernando, whose steady hands and thoughtful leadership helped steer the club toward excellence.

Together, they led the club to become the Most Outstanding Rotaract Club of the Year, winning numerous prestigious accolades including:

Most Outstanding President-Rtr. Kaveesha

Most Outstanding Secretary – Rtr. Shenaya

Silver -Most Outstanding Club Blog ( FMF Blog)

Gold – Newsletter (Round Up)

Gold – Annual Report 

 And many more honors that cemented the legacy of the 2024 – 25 board.

A Passing of the Torch

In one of the most symbolic moments of the evening, Rtr. Piyumi Tharangika was officially collared as the incoming President – stepping into her role with teary eyes and a heart full of vision. In her touching address, she celebrated the past and shared bold goals for the year ahead: fellowship, continuity, and creative expansion across all avenues.

One of the most anticipated announcements followed, the introduction of the new Board of Directors, including the much-loved Blog Team, who will carry forward the storytelling soul of the club.

The Blog Lives On

While the outgoing editorial team left behind big shoes to fill (and awards to match), the energy in the room as the new editorial team was announced promised that the blog is in safe, passionate hands. The Blog Avenue, recognized with a Silver award at the District Assembly, remains one of the club’s strongest voices, capturing stories, emotions, and the heartbeat of service.

 The event concluded with a sincere Vote of Thanks by Rtr. Sanduni Wickramarachchi, closing the meeting with gratitude, unity, and ambition.

Looking Ahead

The 2025 Transition Meeting was more than a change of roles – it was a celebration of growth, leadership, and the boundless potential that lies ahead. As the new team takes the reins, backed by the legacy of excellence and the mentorship of past leaders, one thing is clear:
