The 14th Installation Ceremony of the Rotaract Club of Faculty of law, University of Colombo successfully took place on 13 th October 2025 at New Arts Theatre (NAT). It was a significant milestone of the evening with members, university representatives, and the Rotary and Rotaract fraternity around to celebrate leadership, service, and a new beginning.
At 6.40 p.m. the ceremony went on as the oil lamp was lit and this symbolizes unity, hope as well as beginning of a new Rotaract year. The Dean of the Faculty of Law was present as the Chief Guest of the event and this made the occasion more meaningful.
During the installation, Rtr. Nelumika Malgammana was officially inducted as president for the year 2025/26, along with her Executive Committee and Board of Directors. The departing President Rtr. Ipp Subhanya pepera and her Board were thankfully received due to their efforts and substantial foundation they had gained in the previous year.
In her speech, the new President thought of the burden behind leadership, she said that Rotaract was more than a club, it was a family. She was sincerely grateful to the previous board, the Faculty, the officials in Rotary and Rotaract and everybody who still guide and support the club. She was certain about her faith in her team and her wish to have a year of growth, purpose and meaningful service.
To make the evening even more enjoyable, a light video with the President and the Board was shown, which made many people smile and laugh at the viewpoint of the close relationships within the team. Club members also actively took part in the ceremony and this was another way of showing how the club was united and enthusiastic.
The 14th Installation Ceremony came to its very end, and thus the new Rotaract year started officially. It is bound to be a confident, service oriented and united step forward by the Rotaract Club of the Faculty of Law with dedicated leadership and a zealous working team.
