Phase 01 of the project served as both a fundraising initiative and an awareness campaign for the visually impaired community. The walk commenced on 11th October 2025 at 3:00 p.m. near Viharamahadevi Park, covering a 2 km route that ended at the Museum Auditorium.
Participants completed the walk while blindfolded, enabling them to gain meaningful insight into the daily challenges faced by individuals with visual impairments.
With the collective support and active involvement of the partner clubs, the event successfully attracted over 300 participants. Their combined efforts and commitment played a key role in the success of the walk. Blind Walk Phase 01 was successfully completed, achieving its intended objectives of both fundraising and community awareness.
Blind Walk Phase 2 was successfully held on February 28, 2026, as a continuation of the impactful efforts initiated during Blind Walk Phase 1. This meaningful initiative was a joint project powered by the Rotary Club of Colombo Midtown, together with five Rotaract clubs, Rotaract Club of University of Colombo Faculty of Management and Finance, Rotaract Club of Colombo Midtown, Rotaract Club of ECU, Rotaract Club of Achievers Lanka and Rotaract Club of Sri Jayewardenepura.
The Phase 2 event marked a significant milestone, as the funds raised during the first phase were officially handed over to visually handicapped entrepreneurs at the Sri Lankan Federation of the Visually Handicapped (SLNFVH). The event commenced at 3.00 PM at the SLNFVH premises and featured a series of inspiring and heartfelt speeches. The gathering was enriched with meaningful discussions that highlighted the purpose and impact of the initiative.
The President of Colombo Midtown Rtn. Jananga Priyadasa, addressed the audience, sharing the story behind how the project began. He emphasized how even small efforts can create a lasting impact on someone’s life. The Chairperson of the project, Mr. Pesala Sampath, also spoke at the event, reflecting on the journey and experiences throughout the project. He expressed his satisfaction in witnessing the positive outcomes achieved through collective dedication.
Following the speeches, a tea and snack session was organized, giving attendees an opportunity to connect and share the moment. The highlight of the event was the distribution of funds and support to selected beneficiaries, marking a meaningful step toward empowering visually handicapped entrepreneurs.
Overall, Blind Walk stood as a powerful example of collaboration, compassion, and the impact of community-driven initiatives.
ව්යාපෘතියේ 01 අදියර, දෘෂ්යාබාධිත ප්රජාව සඳහා අරමුදල් රැස්කිරීමේ මුලපිරීමක් මෙන්ම දැනුවත් කිරීමේ ව්යාපාරයක් ලෙස පැවැත්විණ 2025 ඔක්තොම්බර් 11 වනදින සවස ට 3.00 පා ගමන විහාරමහාදේවි උද්යානය අසලින් ආරම්භ වී කෞතුකාගාර ශ්රවණාගාරය අසලින් අවසන් වන කිලෝමීටර 2 ක මාර්ගයක් ආවරණය කරන ලදී.
දෘශ්යාබාධිත පුද්ගලයන් මුහුණ දෙන දෛනික අභියෝග පිළිබඳ අර්ථවත් අවබෝධයක් ලබා ගැනීමට හැකි වන පරිදි සහභාගිවන්නන් දෑස් බැඳ පා ගමන සම්පූර්ණ කළහ.
හවුල්කාර සමාජවල සාමූහික සහයෝගය සහ ක්රියාකාරී මැදිහත්වීම මත, මෙම අවස්ථාවට සහභාගී වූවන් 300 කට අධික සංඛ්යාවකගේ සහභාගීත්වයෙන් සාර්ථකව සිදු විය. ඔවුන්ගේ ඒකාබද්ධ උත්සාහය සහ කැපවීම පා ගමනේ සාර්ථකත්වය සඳහා ප්රධාන කාර්යභාරයක් ඉටු කළේය. අරමුදල් රැස්කිරීමේ සහ ප්රජාව දැනුවත් කිරීමේ එහි අපේක්ෂිත අරමුණු සාක්ෂාත් කර ගනිමින් Blind Walk අදියර 01 සාර්ථකව නිම කරන ලදී.
බ්ලයින්ඩ් වෝක් (Blind Walk) පළමු අදියරේදී ආරම්භ කරන ලද සුවිශේෂී මෙහෙවරෙහි ඉදිරි පියවරක් ලෙස, එහි දෙවන අදියර 2026 පෙබරවාරි 28 වන දින සාර්ථකව පවත්වන ලදී. මෙම අර්ථවත් ව්යාපෘතිය කොළඹ මිඩ්ටවුන් රොටරි සමාජය (Rotary Club of Colombo Midtown) සහ රොටරැක්ට් සමාජ පහක් (කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්යාලයේ කළමනාකරණ සහ මූල්ය පීඨ රොටරැක්ට් සමාජය, කොළඹ මිඩ්ටවුන් රොටරැක්ට් සමාජය, ECU රොටරැක්ට් සමාජය, Achievers Lanka රොටරැක්ට් සමාජය සහ ශ්රී ජයවර්ධනපුර රොටරැක්ට් සමාජය) එක්ව සංවිධානය කරන ලදී.
දෙවන අදියරේ වැදගත්ම සන්ධිස්ථානය වූයේ, පළමු අදියරේදී රැස් කරන ලද අරමුදල් ශ්රී ලංකා දෘෂ්යාබාධිත ජාතික සම්මේලනයේ (SLNFVH) දෘෂ්යාබාධිත ව්යවසායකයින් වෙත නිල වශයෙන් ප්රදානය කිරීමයි. එදින පස්වරු 3.00 ට ශ්රී ලංකා දෘෂ්යාබාධිත ජාතික සම්මේලන පරිශ්රයේදී ආරම්භ වූ මෙම උත්සවය දිරිගන්වන සුළු දේශන රැසකින් සමන්විත විය. එහිදී පැවැත්වුණු සාකච්ඡා මගින් මෙම ව්යාපෘතියේ අරමුණ සහ එහි ඇති වැදගත්කම මැනවින් අවධාරණය කෙරිණි.
කොළඹ මිඩ්ටවුන් රොටරි සමාජයේ සභාපති රොටේරියන් ජනංග ප්රියදාස මහතා අදහස් දක්වමින්, මෙම ව්යාපෘතිය ආරම්භ වූ ආකාරය සහ කුඩා උත්සාහයකින් වුවද කෙනෙකුගේ ජීවිතයට විශාල බලපෑමක් කළ හැකි ආකාරය පිළිබඳව පැහැදිලි කළේය. ව්යාපෘති සභාපති පේසල සම්පත් මහතා ද මෙහිදී අදහස් දැක්වූ අතර, ඔහු ව්යාපෘතිය පුරා ලැබූ අත්දැකීම් ආවර්ජනය කළේය. සාමූහික කැපවීම තුළින් අත්කර ගත් ධනාත්මක ප්රතිඵල පිළිබඳව ඔහු සිය සතුට පළ කළේය.
දේශනවලින් අනතුරුව පැමිණ සිටි පිරිසට තේ පැන් සංග්රහයක් පිරිනැමූ අතර, එහිදී සියලු දෙනාට අදහස් හුවමාරු කර ගැනීමට අවස්ථාව ලැබුණි. උත්සවයේ සුවිශේෂීම අවස්ථාව වූයේ තෝරාගත් ප්රතිලාභීන් වෙත අරමුදල් සහ ආධාර බෙදා දීමයි. මෙය දෘෂ්යාබාධිත ව්යවසායකයින් සවිබල ගැන්වීම සඳහා තැබූ අර්ථවත් පියවරක් විය.
සමස්තයක් ලෙස ගත් කල, ‘බ්ලයින්ඩ් වෝක්’ ව්යාපෘතිය යනු සාමූහික සහයෝගීතාවය, කරුණාව සහ ප්රජා මූලික මුලපිරීම් හරහා ඇති කළ හැකි යහපත් වෙනස පිළිබඳ මනා උදාහරණයකි.
திட்டத்தின் 01 ஆம் கட்டம் பார்வையற்ற சமூகத்திற்கான நிதி திரட்டும் முயற்சியாகவும் விழிப்புணர்வு பிரச்சாரமாகவும் செயல்பட்டது. நடைப்பயணம் 11 அக்டோபர் 2025 அன்று மதியம் 3:00 மணிக்கு தொடங்கியது. விகாரமஹாதேவி பூங்காவிற்கு அருகில், அருங்காட்சியக ஆடிட்டோரியத்தில் முடிவடையும் 2 கிமீ பாதையை உள்ளடக்கியது.
பங்கேற்பாளர்கள் கண்களை மூடிக்கொண்டு நடைப்பயணத்தை முடித்தனர், பார்வைக் குறைபாடுள்ள தனிநபர்கள் எதிர்கொள்ளும் தினசரி சவால்களைப் பற்றிய அர்த்தமுள்ள நுண்ணறிவைப் பெற அவர்களுக்கு உதவியது.
கூட்டாளர் கிளப்களின் கூட்டு ஆதரவு மற்றும் தீவிர ஈடுபாட்டுடன், நிகழ்வு 300 க்கும் மேற்பட்ட பங்கேற்பாளர்களை ஈர்த்தது. அவர்களின் கூட்டு முயற்சியும் அர்ப்பணிப்பும் நடைப்பயணத்தின் வெற்றியில் முக்கிய பங்கு வகித்தது. கண்மூடித்தனமான நடைப்பயிற்சி கட்டம் 01 வெற்றிகரமாக முடிக்கப்பட்டது, நிதி திரட்டுதல் மற்றும் சமூக விழிப்புணர்வு ஆகிய இரண்டின் நோக்கத்தையும் அடைந்தது.

மொத்தத்தில், Blind Walk ஒத்துழைப்பு, பரிவு மற்றும் சமூகநோக்கம் கொண்ட முயற்சியின் தாக்கத்தின் சிறந்த உதாரணமாக அமைந்தது.
