Center Stage 2026 – Rtr. Amaan Thaha

Get ready for a conversation filled with insight, laughter, and inspiration! Here are some questions we asked from him, and his thoughtful answers to them;

  1. Which project taught you the most about yourself and what was that lesson?

The project that taught me the most was Project Wanivia 2.0, which I co-chaired. Spanning eight long months with five distinct phases, it was a massive commitment alongside my academic and sports responsibilities. It taught me how to balance heavy workloads and how to lead and organize a large committee of about 20 people over a long duration.

  1. Has there been a specific time in Rotaract that completely pushed you out of your comfort zone?

Yes, serving as an Editor for the Rotaract Club of the University of Colombo, Faculty of Management and Finance, during my second year. Managing the FMF blog and the quarterly newsletters while juggling academic commitments was incredibly tough. The fourth quarter was particularly hectic because we had to finalize content and pictures for the newsletter by June while numerous other projects were happening simultaneously.

  1. What is one piece of advice you would give your younger self before joining Rotaract?

I would say take all the opportunities with both hands. You are given a rare chance to represent your faculty on a board of 22 people out of 700 undergraduates don’t be shy. Looking back as I finish my university life, saying “yes” to those opportunities was the best decision I made.

With this, we officially wrap up the Center Stage 2026 interview series. Thank you for staying with us throughout the journey. See you in another exciting series next year!
