My Rotaract journey started in 2023, when I joined the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo Faculty of Management and Finance during my 1st year of university life. As a fresher, my aim was to build up a network around me and to make new friends. Projects, donations, trips, musical events caught my eye, and I knew this would be the exact place for me to explore areas that I have never touched.
It all started with getting the opportunity to chair Project Vanajeeviyo 3.0, a project that still dearly lies within my heart. From an environmental service project with 5 phases, I got to test my boundaries, my capabilities, overcome new challenges, managing resources and learned how to plan ahead. Project Vanajeeviyo 3.0 earning the Bronze award for an Initiative Supporting the Environment, became a major highlight in my rotaract journey as a fresher.
Moving past that, I was appointed as the Co-Director of the Environmental Services Avenue in the year 2024-25. I was able to join hands and coordinate several projects from planting to cleaning to feeding animals to everything you can name of. So much of experiences, so many memories, so many lessons Rotaract basically taught me everything!
And now in the current year 2025-26, I serve as the Secretary of the club, spending my time alongside so many familiar and new faces at the same time, dealing closely with the administrative work of the club. This journey was never just about a position or responsibilities, it was about growth, memories, challenges, and the people who made every moment worthwhile. And even though this chapter comes to an end, the lessons and bonds I found through Rotaract will always stay with me.
