Celebrating this power of expression, Wordsville 6.0 was successfully organized as a trilingual writing and an English speech competition by the FMF Blog of the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo Faculty of Management and Finance, in collaboration with the Leo Club of Pepiliyana Woodlands and the Interact Club of St. Joseph’s College, Colombo 10.
Conducted under the theme “Let your words create magic,” the project aimed to provide a platform for talented young individuals to express their creativity, ideas and perspectives through writing and speech. The initiative encouraged self-expression, communication, confidence and language appreciation among school and university students while fostering creativity and healthy competition.
The competition was organized under School Category and University Category. Participants were given the opportunity to compete in writing competitions conducted in all three language Sinhala, English and Tamil In addition, an English speech competition was organized to help participants enhance their public speaking skills, confidence and stage presence.
Wordsville 6.0 attracted talented participants from various schools and universities who showcased exceptional creativity, originality and communication skills throughout the competition. Through this initiative, participants were able to develop their literary and speaking abilities while gaining recognition for their talents and hard work.
The project concluded with the Wordsville 6.0 Awarding Ceremony, held on 6th May at the University of Colombo from 4.30 PM onwards. The event brought together participants, distinguished guests, organizers and invitees for an evening dedicated to celebrating creativity and achievement.
The ceremony commenced with opening remarks and a welcome speech, setting an inspiring tone for the evening. One of the most exciting highlights of the event was the Speech Contest Final Rounds, where finalists confidently delivered impactful speeches filled with passion and creativity. Their performances captivated the audience and demonstrated the remarkable speaking abilities of the participants.
The event also included the presentation of awards for the writing and speech competitions under both School and University categories. Winners from the Sinhala, English and Tamil writing competitions, as well as the English speech competition were recognized and appreciated for their outstanding performances. Adding entertainment and warmth to the evening, the Rotaractors performed the song “Until I Found You” as an ice-breaker item during the ceremony.
The success of Wordsville 6.0 was further strengthened through the generous support of The CMA Sri Lanka, who joined the initiative as the Silver Sponsor and contributed towards the successful execution of the project.
Overall, Wordsville 6.0 successfully celebrated creativity, language diversity and the power of expression while creating a memorable platform for young writers and speakers to showcase their talents. The project not only empowered participants to express themselves confidently but also strengthened collaboration among youth organizations in creating meaningful opportunities for the younger generation.
අදහස්, හැඟීම් සහ නිර්මාණශීලීත්වය ප්රකාශ කිරීමේ ශක්තිය සැමරීමේ අරමුණින්, කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්යාලයේ කළමනාකරණ හා මූල්ය පීඨයේ රොටරැක්ට් සංගමයේ FMF Blog විසින්, පැපිලියාන වුඩ්ලන්ඩ්ස් ලියෝ සමාජය හා කොළඹ 10 ශාන්ත ජෝසප් විද්යාලීය ඉන්ටරැක්ට් සමාජය සමඟ එක්ව Wordsville 6.0 ත්රෛභාෂා රචනා හා ඉංග්රීසි කථන තරගාවලිය සාර්ථකව සංවිධානය කරන ලදී.
“Let Your Words Create Magic” යන තේමාව යටතේ පැවැත්වුණු මෙම ව්යාපෘතියේ අරමුණ වූයේ තරුණ දක්ෂතා ඇති සිසුන්ට හා විශ්වවිද්යාල සිසුන්ට තම නිර්මාණශීලී අදහස්, මතවාද සහ දැක්ම ලිවීම හා කථනය ඔස්සේ ප්රකාශ කිරීමට වේදිකාවක් සපයා දීමයි. මෙමඟින් ආත්ම ප්රකාශනය, සන්නිවේදන හැකියාවන්, ආත්මවිශ්වාසය සහ භාෂා ඇගයීම ප්රවර්ධනය කිරීමත්, නිර්මාණශීලීත්වය හා සෞඛ්ය සම්පන්න තරගකාරීත්වය වර්ධනය කිරීමත් අපේක්ෂා කෙරිණි.
මෙම තරගාවලිය පාසල් අංශය සහ විශ්වවිද්යාල අංශය ලෙස සංවිධානය කර තිබූ අතර, සිංහල, ඉංග්රීසි හා දෙමළ යන භාෂා තුනෙන්ම රචනා තරග සඳහා සහභාගී වීමේ අවස්ථාව තරගකරුවන්ට හිමි විය. මීට අමතරව, සහභාගිවන්නන්ගේ ප්රසිද්ධ කථන කුසලතා, ආත්මවිශ්වාසය සහ වේදිකා ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමේ හැකියාවන් වර්ධනය කිරීමේ අරමුණින් ඉංග්රීසි කථන තරගයක් ද සංවිධානය කෙරිණි.
විවිධ පාසල් හා විශ්වවිද්යාල නියෝජනය කරමින් සහභාගී වූ දක්ෂ තරගකරුවන් සිය නිර්මාණශීලීත්වය, නවෝත්පාදකත්වය සහ සන්නිවේදන කුසලතා ඉහළ මට්ටමකින් ප්රදර්ශනය කළහ. මෙමඟින් ඔවුන්ගේ සාහිත්යමය හා කථන හැකියාවන් තවදුරටත් සංවර්ධනය කර ගැනීමටත්, තම දක්ෂතා සඳහා ඇගයීමක් ලබා ගැනීමටත් අවස්ථාව උදා විය.
ව්යාපෘතියේ අවසාන අදියර ලෙස Wordsville 6.0 සම්මාන ප්රදානෝත්සවය මැයි මස 6 වන දින පස්වරු 4.30ට කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්යාලයේදී පැවැත්විණි. නිර්මාණශීලීත්වය හා ජයග්රහණයන් සමරන මෙම උත්සවය සඳහා තරගකරුවන්, ආරාධිත අමුත්තන්, සංවිධායකයින් සහ විශේෂ ආරාධිතයින් එක්වූහ.
සමාරම්භක දේශනය සහ පිළිගැනීමේ කතාව සමඟ උත්සවය ආරම්භ වූ අතර, එය සැමට ආශ්වාදජනක පසුබිමක් නිර්මාණය කළේය. උත්සවයේ විශේෂ අවස්ථාවක් වූයේ ඉංග්රීසි කථන තරගයේ අවසන් වටය වන අතර, අවසන් වටයට සුදුසුකම් ලැබූ තරගකරුවන් තම උද්යෝගය, නිර්මාණශීලීත්වය සහ කථන දක්ෂතාවය විදහා දක්වමින් ප්රබල දේශන ඉදිරිපත් කළහ. ඔවුන්ගේ දක්ෂතා ප්රේක්ෂකයන්ගේ දැඩි පැසසුමට ලක් විය.

இத்திட்டம் Wordsville 6.0 Awarding Ceremony உடன் நிறைவடைந்தது. இந்த விழா மே 6 ஆம் திகதி கொழும்பு பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் மாலை 4.30 மணி முதல் நடைபெற்றது. படைப்பாற்றலையும் சாதனைகளையும் கொண்டாடும் நோக்கில், போட்டியாளர்கள், சிறப்பு விருந்தினர்கள், ஏற்பாட்டாளர்கள் மற்றும் அழைக்கப்பட்டோர் ஒன்றுகூடிய நினைவூட்டும் நிகழ்வாக இது அமைந்தது.
