Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro was born on February 5, 1985, in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal. Ronaldo came from a humble background where things were not always easy for him and his family members. Ronaldo’s father used to work as a gardener while his mother was employed as a cook to make ends meet. Despite the financial constraints they were under, Ronaldo never let those struggles get in the way of his dream of playing football. Ronaldo used to spend long hours playing football and wishing that someday he could become a great footballer since childhood. Due to his talent, he started playing football in various clubs and finally made it to the youth academy of Sporting CP when he was only twelve years old.
The career of Cristiano Ronaldo started in the Portuguese club Sporting CP where he earned a lot of praise and was spotted by many of the biggest clubs from Europe. In 2003, he was brought to the English team Manchester United after he played impressively during a friendly match with the latter and joined the club under the supervision of Sir Alex Ferguson. This move became a turning point in his life. While playing for the Manchester United, he matured as a footballer and won a lot of competitions with the club.

He has been selected for Portugal in a number of UEFA European Championship tournaments and FIFA World Cup tournaments. Although Ronaldo got injured in the final match, he kept on motivating his team members from the sidelines until they succeeded in winning the match. Later, he was able to make Portugal victorious in the UEFA Nations League tournament and became the all-time top goal-scorer in men’s international football.
