2 years into Rotaract, it’s evident that every Rotaract journey comes with opportunities to learn, grow and connect with those who share the same passion for service. The Avenue Directors Training Seminar (ADTS) was one such experience, bringing together Rotaractors from across the district 3220 for a day filled with knowledge, new perspectives and meaningful connections.
The day began with the general session, where we were introduced to the responsibilities, expectations and importance of being an Avenue Director. It gave us an insight into how each avenue contributes towards the greater vision of Rotaract and how collaboration between different avenues can transform ideas into impactful initiatives.
However, the real adventure began when we were divided into separate breakout rooms according to our respective avenues. This allowed us to step away from the broader concepts discussed during the general session and dive deeper into the responsibilities specific to our own avenues.
As members of the Editorial Avenue, we joined the Public Image session alongside PR and Digital Communications. The session provided us with valuable insights into the guidelines and practices that shape the public image of a Rotaract club. From maintaining consistency in communication to understanding how content represents an organization, we were given a clearer picture of the responsibility that comes with every article, post, design and message we put forward.
Yet, ADTS was not only about learning. It was also about the people we met along the way. The breakout sessions created the perfect opportunity to interact with fellow Rotaractors from different clubs, exchange experiences and share ideas. Each conversation brought a new perspective and reminded us that although our clubs and avenues may differ, our passion for creating an impact remains the same.
As the day came to an end, ADTS left us with more than just notes and guidelines. It gave us a better understanding of our roles, new connections to cherish and ideas to carry forward.
Because every training is not merely a lesson, it is another step in becoming better Rotaractors, better leaders and better versions of ourselves.
