Beginnings are not mere marching ahead, but indeed is a pause to look back. To look back at that path we came hand in hand making thousands of lives better. The Rotary International District 3220 reserved its place in the books of history pausing to look back and march forward on the 2nd of July 2022 at Golden Rose – Boralesgamuwa. Ladies and gentlemen, presenting to you the ‘32nd Rotaract District Training Assembly’ in words!
ආරම්භයන් යනු ඉදිරියට ගමන් කිරීම පමණක් නොව, ආපසු හැරී බැලීමේ විරාමයකි. අත්වැල් බැඳගෙන දහසකුත් ජීවිත යහපත් කරමින් පසු කර ආ ඒ මග හැරී බලන විරාමයකි. රොටරි ජාත්යන්තර දිස්ත්රික් 3220 එවැනි හැරී බලන්නක් සහ ඉදිරියට යාමක් ඉතිහාස පොත්වල 2022 ජූලි 2 වන දින බොරලැස්ගමුව ගෝල්ඩන් රෝස්හිදී වෙන් කළ වගයි. නෝනාවරුනි මහත්වරුනි, ‘32 වැනි රොටරැක්ට් දිස්ත්රික් පුහුණු රැස්වීම’ වචනයෙන් මෙලෙස ඔබ හමුවට!
ஆரம்பம் என்பது முன்னோக்கி செல்வது மட்டுமல்ல, திரும்பிப் பார்க்க ஒரு இடைநிறுத்தமாகவும் அமைகிறது. ஆயிரக் கணக்கான உயிர்களை மேம்படுத்ததிய இப் பாதையைத் திரும்பிப் பார்க்கவைக்கும் ஒரு இடைநிறுத்தமாகும். ரோட்டரி சர்வதேச மாவட்டம் 3220, 2022 ஜூலை 2 ஆம் திகதி அன்று கோல்டன் ரோஸ் – பொரலஸ்கமுவவில் தன் வெற்றிப் பாதையை திரும்பிப் பார்க்கவும், இனி வரும் காலங்களில் முன்னோக்கிச் செல்வதையும் பொருட்டு வரலாற்றுப் புத்தகங்களில் தனது இடத்தைப் பிடித்துள்ளது. ‘32வது ரோட்ராக்ட் மாவட்டப் பயிற்சிப் பேரவையை‘ வார்த்தைகளில் இதோ உங்களுக்காக வழங்குகிறோம்!
With the District Rotaract Representative 2021-22 Rtn. Rtr. PP Akhila Wijetunga at the wheel, it is no secret that Rotaract in RID 3220 indeed crossed the ocean of rough waves, collapsed seas, and tough days and night which was proven with the award received in 2021 recognizing the contribution made towards integration and promotion of youth volunteerism by United Nations Volunteers. The few words of the outgoing DRR Rtn. Rtr. PP Akhila Wijetunga spoke volumes of the immense impact made upon lives. No sail succeeds without the efforts of its crew. The individual contributions of the 92 Rotaract clubs in the Rotary International District 3220 were given the deserving applauds for doing a job that cannot be done even better. Amidst this competitive number, few clubs grabbed the stage space as the Most Outstanding Clubs of Rotaract in RID 3220 in which RACUOCFMF did not fail to be in with its unmatchable nature of being outstanding. Conquering 15 awards in different categories FMFers brought the glory and pride home as always.
Not only limiting to project awards, RACUOCFMF was appreciated for its immense contribution as individuals and teams given in events to make them the best that it could be. The club was applauded for 6 such contributions and hats off to all those well deserving personalities.
That was just another mission of Rotaract in RID 3220 that ended in style, and here comes the next with District Rotaract Representative 2022-23 Rtn. Rtr. PP Ahamed Hussain at the wheel to create another chapter of glory with his team. Spotlighting the responsibilities of the youth especially in Sri Lanka the District Rotaract Representative of Rotary International District 3220 of Sri Lanka and Maldives, Rtn. Rtr. PP Ahamed delivered his speech, which is, be a beginning of the mission of impacting lives in being better ONCE AGAIN! How to not mention here the immense pleasure and pride felt in witnessing the induction of deserving FMFers, Rtr. IPP Arshad Sufi Ismail as the Joint Director – Professional Development, Rtr. Hasara Hikkaduwa as the Assistant Rotaract District Treasurer, Rtr. Sanjana Wanigasekara as the Joint Director – Public Relations, and Rtr. Afkar Saleem as the Joint Editor in the Rotaract District Steering Committee 2022-23.
With overwhelming happiness, satisfaction, and mesmerizing moments the 32nd Rotaract District Training Assembly marked its conclusion in style and with the participation of 600 passionate Rotaractors indicated that success ahead and cheers to all of them in being better in Learning, Serving, and Striving.
