The 8th Installation of the Rotaract Club of CfPS Law School was a remarkable event held on the 6th of October 2023 at the DHPL Conference Centre, commencing at 6 pm. The ceremony was a spectacular display of inspiration and camaraderie, echoing the Rotaract spirit that binds its members together. The lighting of the oil lamp symbolized the beginning of a new chapter, and the evening was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including the esteemed Chief Guest, PHF Saifu Adamalay, and DRR Rtr. PP Sathma Jayasinghe, as well as the Director of Student Affairs and International Studies of CfPS Law School, Mrs. Manouri Pieris. Representing the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo Faculty of Management and Finance, Rtr. Nitharshanan Sivabalasundaram was in attendance.
The meeting commenced when the house was called to order by Sargent-at-arms Rtr. Shevani Bandara. The flag salutations and customary Rotaract formalities were gracefully conducted by the Director of Professional Development, Rtr. Dulya Hettiarachchi, adding an air of formality and tradition to the occasion.One of the highlights of the evening was the Secretary’s report for the year 2022-2023, which was presented by the Joint Secretary for the year 2022-2023, Rtr. Aneegha Munasinghe. He eloquently recounted the club’s successful projects, including “Better Tomorrow,” “Beach Cleanup,” and a “Blood Donation Camp.” He particularly highlighted “Project Jingles” as a major achievement of their club year, expressing his pride in the team’s efforts. His speech concluded with heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported him in his journey, with special mentions for his joint secretary, Rtr. Netanya Perera, and President Rtr. Kavini Bamunusinghe.Outgoing President Rtr. Kavini Bamunusinghe addressed the gathering, reflecting on the transformative journey of the past year and expressing her deep gratitude to all those who stood by her side during her tenure. The introduction of the incoming President, Rtr. Netanya Perera was a moment filled with warmth and camaraderie. Her sister, Nevanya Perera, and close friend, Kavitha Costa, spoke of her transformation from a chirpy and lively friend to a responsible and dedicated leader. It was a touching moment that showcased the personal growth experienced by individuals in the Rotaract community.
Rtr. Netanya Perera was then officially assumed duties as the President, with outgoing President Rtr. Kavini Bamunusinghe Collaring her. In her inaugural address, Rtr. Netanya emphasized her role not as just a president but as a friend and a team worker. She pledged her commitment to lead the club to new heights and contribute positively to society.

Senali Rajapaksa presented an entertaining singing performance, enhancing the celebratory atmosphere. The event reached its grand culmination with the address of the Chief Guest for the day, Rtn. PHF Saifu Adamalay. He shared his cherished memories of Rotaract and extended his best wishes to Rtr. Netanya and her board of directors, expressing hope for a successful year ahead.
As the evening drew to a close, tokens of appreciation were extended to the event’s special contributors, followed by felicitations from fellow clubs, Friends, and Family. To bring the evening to a close, Secretary for the years 2023/24, Rtr. Fiyaza Inas, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all who made the event a resounding success. As the 8th Installation Ceremony of the Rotaract Club of CfPS Law School concluded, it marked the beginning of a new chapter filled with hope, dedication, and the promise of positive change for both the members and the community they serve. The Rotaract Club of University of Colombo Faculty of Management and Finance extended their warm wishes to the incoming President, Rtr. Netanya Perera, and her Board of Directors, embarked on another year of transformation, compassion, and excellence.
