The Rotaract Club of Colombo Uptown paved their way to yet another inspiring year ahead with their 19th Installation Ceremony. The glorious event was held on the 29th of July at the Royal Collage Union Skills Centre. Representing RACUOCFMF Rtr. Samindi Weerakoon, Rtr. Gajaba Senaratne, Rtr. Navinda Meepe, Rtr. Sandali Jayasinghe, Rtr. Thilan Rupasinghe, Rtr. Randika Sandaruwan, Rtr. Anuji Chandrasekare and Rtr. Sanjana Wanigasekara joined the ceremony to witness the novel era of RAC Colombo Uptown.
The ceremony was ordered to begin by Rtr. Akmal Afzal, the president of the RI year 2020-21, and was taken up by the Routine Rotaract formalities; The Flag Salutation, Rotaract Invocation and the Four-Way Test.
Following the cordial welcome of all who joined the ceremony, the secretary’s report for the RI year 2021-22 was presented by the Outgoing Secretary. She was overjoyed to share the successful project completions achieved throughout the RI year, and also expressed her appreciation to everyone who contributed to the club’s success.
Next, the Outgoing President Rtr. Akmal Afzal addressed the gathering for one last time as the president, and he extended his gratitude to everyone who supported the club’s successful journey. Moreover, he passed sincere wishes to the Incoming President and his board to take the club to greater heights.
Next, the most anticipated moment of the day arrived as the Outgoing President, Rtr. Akmal Afzal gracefully collared Rtr. Aakash Rayen as the president for the RI year 2022-23.
This was followed by the speech of Rtr. Aakash Rayen as the Incoming President, in which he shared his new motto and his vision for the new RI year. He concluded his address by introducing the Board of Directors for the year 2022- 23.

Subsequently, the District Rotaract Representative, Rtr. Rtn. PP Ahamed Hussain addressed the gathering, which was then followed by the speeches of the Chief Guests and other distinguish guests. They appreciated the service of the Rotaract Club of Colombo Uptown and how the club connected with the society and the rest of the Rotaract community.
Following that, felicitations were presented from all the Rotaractors and finally, the ceremonial proceedings came to a closure with the vote of thanks being delivered by the Incoming Secretary Rtr. Piyara Wijekoon.
