The Vibrance of India

 

India is full of different castes, creeds, religions, and cultures but they live together. That’s why India is famous for the common saying “Unity in diversity”. India is the seventh largest country in the world and has the second largest population in the world: India is also known as Bharat, Hindustan. It is surrounded by oceans from three sides which are the Bay of Bengal in the east: the Arabian Sea in the west and Indian oceans in the south. The tiger is the national animal of India. The peacock is the national bird of India. Mango is the national fruit of India. “Jana Gana Mana” is the national anthem of India. “Vande Mataram” is the national song of India. Hockey is the national sport of India.India is a country that boasts of a rich culture. Indian culture has been influenced by several foreigners and foreign cultures throughout its history. Also, the history of India’s culture is several millennia old. Indian religions are Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Sikhism, and Christianity Jainisms are the major ones. Based on our religions we Indians celebrate lots of festivals like Deepavali, Ganesh Chaturthi, Bakrid, Christmas, Easter, Holi, Krishna Janmashtami, Id Milad and the list goes so on. Hindi is the national language of India. However, there are 22 official languages and other languages spoken in India in its various states and territories. Apart from Hindi people speak English, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Panjabı, Malayalam, Panjabi, and Gujarati. Bhojpuri and the list go so on.People follow a variety of food culture in India. Some popular types of cuisine include North Indian, South Indian, East Iridian and West Indian. North Indian cuisine is tandoori chicken, butter chicken, palak Panneer, rotti ,chappati etc… and south Indian cuisines are use of rice, lentils and coconut in their dishes such as idli, dosa, sambar and chutney. India follows a system of joint family. Rather than nuclear family such as father, mother, children their spouses and offsprings and male elder will be the head of the family.India got independence on 15th August 1947. And we celebrate Independence Day on 15th August of every year and 26th January as Republic Day the day in 1950 when India’s constitution came into effect, making a country sovereign, democratic republic. So, for all these reasons even though. India has different religion, culture, customs, tradition, languages we are living together as one. Therefore, India is called “Unity in diversity”.
