17th Installation Ceremony of the Rotaract Club of Panadura, held on the 5th of September, stood as a gentle yet powerful reminder that leadership is not about moments, but about momentum the kind that carries service forward from one generation of Rotaractors to the next. The evening began at 6.35 p.m. with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp, its steady flame symbolizing continuity, hope, and the promise of another year dedicated to fellowship and meaningful impact.
As the House was called to order by Rtr. Isumi De Silva, the ceremony unfolded with grace and purpose. Fellow RACUOCFMF club members Rtr. Asini Pasansa and Rtr. Kalani Perera took part in the proceedings, contributing to a sense of fellowship and shared celebration because Rotaract ceremonies are never to be enjoyed in solitude but moments to acknowledge and celebrate a fellow club’s milestones as if it were our own.
The outgoing President, Rtr. IPP Lohansa Fernando, delivered a heartfelt address that reflected both pride and gratitude. She looked back on a year defined by progress, memorable milestones, and collective effort, emphasizing that teamwork had been the true driving force behind every success. Her words went beyond achievements, reminding the audience that leadership is measured not only by results, but by the lasting influence and positive change left behind. With sincerity, she thanked her Board of Directors, club members, partners, and well-wishers for standing beside her and expressed her confidence in the incoming leadership to uphold the club’s vision while nurturing fellowship and leadership development. As she formally passed the baton, the moment felt less like an ending and more like a continuation a quiet affirmation that “Great leaders create bridges, not spotlights.”
With deep appreciation, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Rtr. IPP Lohansa Fernando and her Board for their dedication, resilience, and unwavering commitment to service. Their achievements have laid a strong foundation, and we wish them continued success as they carry forward the Rotaract spirit beyond titles and terms, serving with the same passion and purpose wherever their journey leads.

The incoming President, Rtr. Sandew De Silva, then took the stage with words that resonated with authenticity and reflection. His message echoed a timeless truth: “Leadership is not about perfection, but about purpose.”

PP Sanduni Hettigoda highlighted the Incoming President and the bond they share, while light-hearted segments, creative video presentations introducing the Presidents, and a beautiful song performed by club members added elegance, laughter, and heartfelt connection to the evening ,reminding everyone that joy and service walk hand in hand.
