The Rotaract Club of the Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo presents ‘BEAT’- a rave of melodic perfection and a celebration of youthful exuberance across Sri Lanka.
Chaired by our very own Rtr. Thilini Leeniyagolla and Rtr. Nawangi Poholiyadde, Beat is organized in aid of the signature community service project of the club for the upcoming term; “I for an EYE”. All proceeds of the concert will be directed towards conducting free eye clinics and other similar charitable endeavors of the club.
Join us to witness a groundbreaking blend of Sri Lanka’s finest as BEAT 2016 brings together Lahiru Perera as La Signore, Tehan Perera, Daddy and Kurumba upon a single stage for the very first time in Sri Lanka.
Lahiru Perera
Also known by his stage persona, La Signore- Lahiru Perera is a renowned singer, musician and music producer who skyrocketed to success with his 2008 hit single, “Rambari”. Perera continues to revolutionize the Lankan music industry as one of the trendsetters in the local and international arenas- experimenting with innovative approaches to lyrics, compositions and music videos.
Tehan Perera
Both a talented, youthful singer and skilled video director, Tehan Perera is one of the celebrated names in the music industry today. “Unuhuma”,”Unuhuma 2″ and “Aggala Bole” are a few of his well-known hits featured across music charts of the country.
Daddy
Comprising of Nimantha Kaluarachichie, Viresh Cooray, Shamila Siriwardana and Dila Hettiarachchi- Daddy is known for their contemporary sound and fresh lyrics targeting the youth of the country. In May 2007 they released their debut single “Mage Massina” which made its way into the hearts of music lovers all over the island, marking Daddy as one of the best loved bands in Sri Lanka to date.
Kurumba
Last but certainly not least, Kurumba marks the latest collaborative effort of the musical industry, with a combination of exceptional individuals driven by passion, experience and pure talent. Featuring; Devshan Perera on Lead Vocals/ Guitar, Dushyanth Weeraman on Lead Vocals, Oshan De Silva (Tutu) on Lead Guitar/ Backing Vocals, Dilesh Wellington on Bass/ Backing Vocals, Chanitha Dehigahawaththa on Keyboards/ Backing Vocals and Sahan Dasanayake on Drums.
