In the sixth episode of Center Stage 2025 Edition, we are delighted to feature an inspiring personality our every own Joint Director for Professional Development in the Rotaract District Steering Committee, Rtr. Harini Sadewani. In an engaging conversation with Rtr. Vimarshee Gunawardhane, Harini shares her journey, reflections, and some fascinating personal experiences that shaped her time in Rotaract.
Get ready for a conversation filled with insight, laughter, and inspiration! Here are some questions we asked from him, and his thoughtful answers to them;
1.What is your favourite Rotaract memory?
“I’m fairly new to the movement this is only my second year. During my first year, I served as one of the Joint Secretaries of my home club, the Rotaract Club of CCS. One of the most memorable projects I was a part of was Unplugged. It was incredible, we traveled across the country, and the final phase, which featured an open mic night in Jaffna, was especially unforgettable. I connected with amazing people I hadn’t known before, and the entire trip became memorable because of the people I shared it with. That experience truly stands out.”
2.What were your biggest challenges as a Rotaractor, and how did you overcome them?
When I joined Rotaract two years ago, I also started working in a completely different field from my academic background. While I study chemistry for my degree, I began my career as a digital media consultant, literally two polar opposites. Balancing both was incredibly overwhelming at first. Managing my time between academics, work, and Rotaract was a real challenge. But over time, I learned how to handle it all effectively. It was tough, but I’m proud to say I’ve come a long way.
