Upeksha Dissanayake, he opens up about his journey, experiences, and the values that guide her.

1. What skills or qualities have you enhanced through Rotaract?
“Definitely leadership. Through leading and participating in projects, I’ve had the chance to both guide others and grow as a team player. I’ve also significantly improved my communication and collaboration skills. These are the key qualities I’ve developed through my involvement in Rotaract.”
2. How does Rotaract contribute to Rotary’s larger mission?
“Rotaract is a vital part of the Rotary family, with clubs around the world contributing to global service goals. Even small-scale projects led by Rotaract or Interact clubs can create a meaningful impact on society. Through these efforts, we’re able to contribute to Rotary’s broader mission of making a difference globally.”
3. What advice would you give to someone considering joining Rotaract?
“I would wholeheartedly encourage them to join. Academics alone won’t fully develop you. Rotaract is a great platform to grow personally and professionally. It helps you enhance your communication skills, explore new opportunities, and contribute to society. So take the leap and become a part of a Rotaract club, you won’t regret it.”
