Honoured and Sealed; Season 4 – Emerging Project of the Year

In the rapidly evolving landscape of our world, the profound impact of emerging technologies is reshaping the way we live and interact. This dynamic shift is accompanied by a surge of novel ideas and unprecedented challenges. In response to this transformative era, Rotaract has embarked on a series of innovative projects, strategically designed to encourage creative thinking and address the unique challenges brought forth by these advancements. These initiatives reflect Rotaract’s commitment to staying at the forefront of change, fostering a proactive approach to navigating the complexities of our contemporary society. In this way, this article outlines three projects that were awarded gold, silver, and bronze awards at the 33rd Rotaract District Assembly under the title of Emerging Project of the Year.Gold – Project “Vanajeeviyo 2.0” by the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo Faculty of Management and Finance

The Rotaract Club of the Faculty of Management and Finance at the University of Colombo received the gold award for their project “Vanajeeviyo 2.0” in the category of Emerging Project of the Year. The Vanajeeviyo 2.0 initiative, focused on nature conservation and sustainability, unfolded through five distinct phases. In the first phase, the project called Photosynthesis, manifested in the creation of a vibrant butterfly garden at Lindula Maha Vidyalaya in Talawakele. Transitioning into the second phase which is called Zootopia, a QR Code system was introduced, covering 75 bird cages within the Dehiwala Zoological Garden. Moving on to the third phase, Rescue 2.0, the focus was on releasing 250 infant turtles into the ocean and building a new tank for a special turtle. The next phase, named Ecology, involved the planting of 350 mangroves in the Puttalam lagoon. Finally, the project culminated in the Green World phase, where trees were planted in Jayawardenepura Kotte Diyasaru Park. It aimed to promote environmental sustainability and combat deforestation by increasing the number of trees in a specific area.

Silver – Project “Negombo Mic Night” by the Rotaract Club of Negombo

The Negombo Mic Night project organized by the Rotaract Club of Negombo was recognized by winning the silver award in the Emerging Project of the Year category. On the magical evening of 6th August, Negombo Mic Night unfolded its magical charm at Sea Horse Resort and Spa, Negombo. It was a wonderful night full of music and magic. Under the theme “The Magical Breeze Edition” this event consisted of many artists. Nawodya Perera, Hashen Silva, Senuri, and Kavine were some of the artists who performed along with the band Cold Sweat FT. Red Pepper. Adding to the mystery, the Magic Banda mesmerized the audience as the night reverberated with music and wonder.

Bronze – Project “Prathibhana” by the Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya

Prathibhana, a project organized by the Rotaract Club of the University of Peradeniya, won the bronze award under the Emerging Project of the Year. The project’s objective was to support students undertaking the G.C.E Ordinary Level Examination and Grade 5 Scholarship Examination, focusing on enhancing motivation and interpersonal skills through interactive sessions and diverse activities. Throughout the Prathibhana scholarship phase, seminars in English, Sinhala, Tamil, Mathematics, etc., were held in six rural schools near Kandy. In the Prathibhana O/L phase, similar seminars were conducted in two selected schools around Kandy, covering subjects such as English, Mathematics, and Science.අපගේ ලෝකයේ ශීඝ්‍රයෙන් ව්‍යාප්ත වන නැගී එන තාක්ෂණයන්ගේ ප්‍රබල බලපෑම අප ජීවත් වන පරිසරයට බලපෑම් ඇති කරයි. මෙම වෙනස්වීම් තුල නව අදහස් සහ පෙර නොවූ විරූ අභියෝග රැසක් ඇතුලත් වේ. මෙම පරිවර්තනීය යුගයට ප්‍රතිචාර වශයෙන්, නිර්මාණාත්මක චින්තනය දිරිමත් කිරීමට සහ මෙම දියුණුව තුළින් මතුවන සුවිශේෂී අභියෝගවලට විසඳුම් සෙවීමට උපාය මාර්ගිකව නිර්මාණය කර ඇති නව්‍ය ව්‍යාපෘති මාලාවක් Rotaract විසින් ආරම්භ කර ඇත. මෙම මුල පිරීම් මගින් අපගේ සමකාලීන සමාජයේ සංකීර්ණතා මඟහරවා ගැනීමට ක්‍රියාශීලී ප්‍රවේශයක් ගැනීම සදහා Rotaract සමාජ කටයුතු කරමින් පවති. මේ ආකාරයට Emerging Project of the Year යටතේ 33 වැනි Rotaract දිස්ත්‍රික් සමුළුවේදී රන්, රිදී සහ ලෝකඩ සම්මාන ප්‍රදානය කළ ව්‍යාපෘති තුනක් මෙම ලිපියෙන් ගෙනහැර දක්වයි.

කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ කළමනාකරණ හා මූල්‍ය පීඨයේ Rotaract සමාජයට “Vanajeeviyo 2.0” ව්‍යාපෘතිය සඳහා Emerging project of the year කාණ්ඩයේ රන් සම්මානය හිමි විය. “Vanajeeviyo 2.0” ව්‍යාපෘතිය ස්වභාව ධර්මය සංරක්ෂණය සහ තිරසාරත්වය කෙරෙහි අවධානය යොමු කර, වෙනස් අදියර පහක් ඔස්සේ දිග හැරුණි. පළමු අදියරේදී “Photosynthesis” නම් ව්‍යාපෘතිය තලවාකැලේ ලිදුල මහා විද්‍යාලයේ විචිත්‍රවත් සමනල උද්‍යානයක් නිර්මාණය කිරීම තුළින් ආරම්භ විය. “Zootopia” නමින් හැඳින්වෙන දෙවන අදියරේදි දෙහිවල සත්වෝද්‍යානය තුළ කුරුලු කූඩු 75 ක් ආවරණය වන පරිදි QR කේත පද්ධතියක් හඳුන්වා දෙන ලදී. තුන්වන අදියර වන “Rescue 2.0” හිදි, ළදරු කැස්බෑවන් 250 ක් සාගරයට මුදා හැරීම සහ විශේෂ කැස්බෑවෙකු සඳහා නව ටැංකියක් තැනීම කෙරෙහි අවධානය යොමු විය. පරිසර විද්‍යාව ලෙස නම් කරන ලද මීළඟ අදියරට පුත්තලම කලපුවේ කඩොලානශාක 350ක් සිටුවීම ඇතුළත් විය. අවසාන වශයෙන්, මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය, “Green World” අදියරෙන් අවසන් වූ අතර එහිදී ජයවර්ධනපුර කෝට්ටේ දියසරු උද්‍යානයේ ගස් රෝපණය කරන ලදී. නිශ්චිත ප්‍රදේශයක ගස් සංඛ්‍යාව වැඩි කිරීමෙන් පාරිසරික තිරසාරභාවය ප්‍රවර්ධනය කිරීම සහ වන විනාශයට එරෙහිව සටන් කිරීම එහි අරමුණ විය.

මීගමුව Rotaract සමාජය විසින් සංවිධානය කරන ලද The Negombo Mic Night ව්‍යාපෘතිය Emerging project of the year ලෙස රිදී සම්මානය දිනා ගනිමින් ඇගයීමට ලක්විය. අගෝස්තු 6 වෙනිදා magical evening වැඩසටහන Negombo Sea Horse Resort and Spa හිදී පැවැත්විණි. එය සංගීතයෙන් හා මායාවෙන් පිරුණු අපූරු රාත්‍රියක් විය. “The Magical Breeze Edition” යන තේමාව යටතේ මෙම උත්සවය කලාකරුවන් රැසකගෙන් සමන්විත විය. Nawodya Perera, Hashen Silva, Senuri, සහ Kavine Cold Sweat FT සංගීත කණ්ඩායම සමඟින් ප්‍රසංග ඉදිරිපත් කළ කලාකරුවන් කිහිප දෙනෙකු වේ. පේරාදෙණිය විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ Rotaract සමාජය විසින් සංවිධානය කරන ලද “ප්‍රතිභාන” ව්‍යාපෘතිය Emerging project of the year යටතේ ලෝකඩ සම්මානය දිනා ගන්නා ලදී. ව්‍යාපෘතියේ පරමාර්ථය වූයේ අන්තර්ක්‍රියාකාරී සැසි සහ විවිධ ක්‍රියාකාරකම් තුළින් අභිප්‍රේරණය සහ අන්තර් පුද්ගල කුසලතා වැඩි දියුණු කිරීම කෙරෙහි අවධානය යොමු කරමින් සාමාන්‍ය පෙළ විභාගයට සහ 5 ශ්‍රේණියේ ශිෂ්‍යත්ව විභාගයට මුහුණ දෙන සිසුන්ට උපකාර කිරීමයි. “ප්‍රතිභාන” ශිෂ්‍යත්ව අදියර පුරාවටම මහනුවරට නුදුරින් ග්‍රාමීය පාසල් හයක ඉංග්‍රීසි, සිංහල, දෙමළ, ගණිතය යනාදී සම්මන්ත්‍රණ පැවැත්විණි. “ප්‍රතිභාන” සා/පෙළ අදියරේදී මහනුවර අවට තෝරාගත් පාසල් දෙකක ඉංග්‍රීසි, ගණිතය, විද්‍යාව වැනි විෂයයන් ආවරණය වන පරිදි මෙවැනි සම්මන්ත්‍රණ පවත්වන ලදී.

கொழும்பு பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் முகாமைத்துவ மற்றும் நிதி பீடத்தின் Rotaract club, “Vanajeeviyo 2.0” என்ற திட்டத்திற்காக வருடத்தின் வளர்ந்து வரும் செயற்திட்டம் என்ற பிரிவில் தங்க விருதைப் பெற்றுள்ளது. Vanajeeviyo 2.0 செயற்திட்டம், இயற்கை பாதுகாப்பு மற்றும் நிலைத்தன்மையை மையமாகக் கொண்டது, ஐந்து வெவ்வேறு கட்டங்களில் விரிவடைந்தது. முதற்கட்டமாக, Photosynthesis என்ற திட்டம், தலவாக்கலை Lindula மகா வித்தியாலயத்தில் அழகான வண்ணத்துப்பூச்சி தோட்டத்தை உருவாக்குவதில் வெளிப்பட்டது. பேராதனைப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் Rotaract கழகத்தினால் ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்ட Prathibhana எனும் செயற்திட்டமானது, ஆண்டின் வளர்ந்து வரும் திட்டத்தின் கீழ் வெண்கல விருதை வென்றுள்ளது. திட்டத்தின் நோக்கம் G.C.E மேற்கொள்ளும் மாணவர்களுக்கு ஆதரவளிப்பதாகும். சாதாரண தரப் பரீட்சை மற்றும் தரம் 5 புலமைப்பரிசில் பரீட்சை, அமர்வுகள் மற்றும் பல்வேறு செயற்பாடுகள் மூலம் உந்துதல் மற்றும் தனிப்பட்ட திறன்களை மேம்படுத்துவதில் கவனம் செலுத்துகிறது. Prathibhana புலமைப்பரிசில் கட்டம் என்பது, கண்டிக்கு அருகில் உள்ள ஆறு கிராமப்புற பாடசாலைகளில் ஆங்கிலம், சிங்களம், தமிழ், கணிதம் போன்றவற்றில் கருத்தரங்குகள் நடைபெற்றதாகும்.
