Rotaract in RID 3220 Leadership
Rotaract, an influential global youth movement stemming from Rotary International, serves as a remarkable platform for individuals aged 18 and above. It offers a range of opportunities to engage in meaningful service, enhance professional skills, and foster leadership abilities, all with the aim of creating a better future.
In the administrative District 3220 of Rotary International, which encompasses Sri Lanka and Maldives, Rotaract has flourished since its introduction in Sri Lanka in 1969. Presently, there are over 90 Rotaract clubs, spread across 8 administrative provinces in the country, comprising an enthusiastic community of nearly 8000 dedicated Rotaractors.
At the helm of the Rotaract District in RID 3220 is the District Rotaract Representative (DRR). In the current year of 2023-24, Rtn. Rtr. PP Sathma Jayasinhe leads the movement with a visionary objective: to make Rotaract the most progressive youth-led movement in Sri Lanka. Her aspiration is to transform the movement into an inclusive platform that welcomes individuals from all walks of life, empowering them to discover themselves, grow personally, and create meaningful impact through service and action.
Rotaract provides young individuals with opportunities to develop their skills, engage in social networks, and enjoy themselves, all while preparing to become the future leaders of the nation. The goal of Rotaractors is to contribute to society by offering sustainable solutions to grassroots problems, with the ultimate aim of uplifting individuals, communities, and the entire nation.
