The session was conducted by Mr. Chrishantha Jayasinghe, an expert in the “pick a book” movement. Along with Mr. Chrishantha Jayasinghe Mr. Dhananchayan Sivathsan and Mrs. Dinushi Edirisinghe from the pick a book initiative gathered with us on this occasion. The session was open for both members and non-members of the club. The main highlight of the session was the book review of the book called ‘Homeless to Billionaire’ by the renowned author Andres Pira.

Inspired by his own massive life changes, Pira details his business journey from homeless and unemployed to telemarketer to a Thai baht billionaire. Innovating along the way and leveraging his own experiences with employees and clients; through failure and success, his 18 principles for attracting wealth, creating opportunity, and celebrating self-discovery were forged. Uncanny wisdom from this millennial adventurer turned businessman is blended with proven research and case studies into powerful lessons. “Do whatever it is you want to do in life. Be whoever you want to be. Go wherever you want to go. Have whatever it is you want to have right now”, urges Pira. The book is a part autobiography, a part success workbook, and 100 percent life lessons as Pira details how to move from fear to inspiration, competitiveness to domination, and student to mentor in business. His call to action is for readers to live their legacy every day.

It was a very interactive session where the host and the audience shared their ideas on reading. Not only the speaker, but also the audience was also very enthusiastic and they kept on asking questions. In addition to the book review, he also learned a bit about the Law of attraction. The end of this spectacular session concluded the project ‘Pick a book’ which was enriched of the importance of reading to gain wisdom.
