The 90s Love I Yearn For

I was born in the wrong generation to be loved. The world today moves too fast, chasing likes, swipes and fleeting thrills where love is measured in emojis and read receipts. I yearn for the 90s love, the kind that lingered, that took time, that wasn’t afraid to be real. I want to be loved, not lusted. I want someone who understands that loyalty once held the weight of hearts, that love wasn’t a trend but a promise. The love I dream of is like the love my parents had,  patient, enduring, unshakable. Divorce isn’t a trend, it’s not supposed to be an easy exit from a story that could have lasted forever.

The love started first, and they ended last with only one. That’s the kind of devotion that, apparently, doesn’t exist anymore. Yep, extinct, probably buried under a pile of forgotten mixtapes and slow jams.

I am an old soul who still believes in chivalry, romance and the art of eye contact. I am an old soul with young eyes, a vintage heart, and a beautiful mind. I will look for you in every lifetime, waiting for the one who sees me as a miracle, writes letters in ink instead of emojis, and believes patience is hotter than a five second reply.

Some hearts belong to another era. I prefer a love reminds me of 90s R&B and sunflowers in the late afternoon warm, bright, unforgettable. Beautiful souls are so much more attractive than beautiful faces. Facial beauty is  gorgeous, but mind,  heart, the quiet strength that’s what stays with me long after the world has swiped away.

I will stay single until someone sends me a full essay explaining why he wants a relationship with me like old-time love. A love where the first glance matters more than the first touch, where loyalty is celebrated, slow conversations are savored and handwritten letters are treasured. Some eyes speak more than a thousand texts ever could. Some smiles stay in your memory like old photographs.

This is the love I yearn for  mixtapes, sunlit afternoons, whispered secrets, hearts that choose each other every day. The love that started first and ended last with only one. Timeless. Rare. Apparently, impossible in 2026. But have a strong wish to all who have urge to have a vintage partner who are secretly wishing so.
