The effort to upgrade the society in terms of Digital Services is another primitive initiative of Rotaract by identifying social needs and communicating them with the community creatively. The following project was recognized under the classification of “Efforts of Introducing Innovative Cutting Edge Technologies to the Rotaract Movement” at the 32nd Rotaract District Training Assembly to appreciate their great efforts.
සමාජ අවශ්යතා හඳුනාගෙන ඒවා නිර්මාණශීලීව ප්රජාව සමඟ සන්නිවේදනය කරමින් ඩිජිටල් සේවාවන්හි සමාජය නංවාලීමේ උත්සාහය රොටරැක්ට් හි තවත් ප්රාථමික වැඩසටහනකි. “රොටරැක්ට් ව්යාපාරයට නව්ය තාක්ෂණයන් හඳුන්වා දීමේ උත්සාහය” යන වර්ගීකරණය යටතේ 32 වැනි රොටරැක්ට් දිස්ත්රික් සමුළුවේදී ඔවුන්ගේ විශිෂ්ට උත්සාහය අගය කිරීම සඳහා පහත ව්යාපෘතිය හඳුනා ගන්නා ලදී.
Spectrum is a novel project initiated by the Professional Development Avenue of the Rotaract club of University of Kelaniya which presented the untold dreams of children in order to incorporate the imaginations of digital enthusiasts through Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). The project opened the door to a new era that was able to promote the next level of digital transformation which further assisted the expansion of the knowledge of Non-Fungible Tokens. It should also be mentioned that the Rotaract club of University of Kelaniya was the first ever volunteer club in Sri Lanka to take this revolutionized step of digital arts.
This project was able not only to conduct research and publish NFT on an international platform but also to fund community projects. Due to the novelty of this project and lack of knowledge and experience about NFTs, this was indeed a challenge to the organizing committee. But the commitment and the dedication of the Spectrum team were able to successfully complete the project in a unique way which created value for the entire history of the Rotaract. Furthermore, the effort of project Spectrum towards uplifting the society resulted in Rotaract club University of Kelaniya being recognized as an innovative club among the other Rotaract clubs as well.
Their creative effort of building a generation with novel ideas for the world while giving a hand to an underprivileged school was one of their great projects that indeed should be appreciated.
