Aluwa

Aluwa is a traditional Sri Lankan sweet with a long history, often made for special occasions and celebrations. It is believed to have been influenced by South Asian and Middle Eastern sweets. Made from roasted rice flour or semolina, sugar or jaggery, and spices like cardamom, Aluwa has a soft yet slightly crumbly texture. It has a mild sweetness with a hint of spice, making it rich and aromatic. Sometimes, cashews or coconut are added for extra flavor and crunch. Aluwa is a simple but delicious treat that melts in your mouth, enjoyed by many generations.
