Data Decoded

Data Decoded was the first introduced workshop under the professional development avenue on data analytics and Power BI that was held on 17th February 2024 at Hector Kobbekaduwa Agrarian Research and Training Institute. This workshop was organized by the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo Faculty of Management and Finance, Rotaract Club of SLIIT, and Rotaract Club of Colombo Mid City. The main objective of the workshop was to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to harness the power of data analytics and Power BI, enabling them to create impactful visualizations and make informed decisions based on data. Additionally, the workshop aimed to guide the next steps for participants to further develop their proficiency in data analytics with confidence.

The workshop, which spanned around four hours, was expertly conducted by Mr. Lalitha Perera, who is the Talent Development Lead and Talent Analyst at Virtusa Pvt. Ltd. as a program moderator, and Mr. Sampath Thirimavithana, who is the Director at Virtusa, graced the occasion as the keynote speaker by addressing the audience with valuable insights. Partnering with the workshop as a title sponsor was the esteemed Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), further enhancing the event’s prestige and significance.The session started around 10:00 a.m. and the registration part of the workshop was done by members of SLIIT. The program commenced with an informative presentation by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM). The first part of the session was presented by Mr. Lalitha Perera with a delightful introduction to the uses and advantages of Power BI. The session lasted for about 2 hours and a small break was given to freshen up the minds of the students. Then Mr. Sampath Thrimavithana delivered the keynote speech of the day. His presentation skills and friendly personality caught everyone’s attention. He spoke about the changes happening in the world with globalization and the introduction of artificial intelligence. After his speech, a token of appreciation was presented to him by Rtr. Vishvi Wijetunge, who is the president of the RACUOCFMF. Then the stage was again handed over to Mr.Lalitha to commence the interactive part of the session. In this part, everyone was requested to open up the Power BI app on their devices and engage with him. It was indeed a very informative session on Power BI. After the session, Rtr. Charitha Yohan who is the director of professional development avenue of the Rotaract Club of SLIIT presented the token of appreciation to Mr. Lalitha for his invaluable contribution to this session.

Overall, Data Decoded proved to be a transformative experience, providing participants with invaluable insights and practical skills in the realm of data analytics and Power BI. The collaboration between the Rotaract Clubs and the support from the CIPM Institute underscored the importance of such initiatives in fostering learning and professional development. As participants depart, armed with newfound knowledge and resources, they are poised to embark on their data analytics journey with confidence, equipped to leverage data effectively and drive impactful decision-making in their respective fields.

Data Decoded යනු 2024 පෙබරවාරි 17 වන දින හෙක්ටර් කොබ්බෑකඩුව ගොවිජන පර්යේෂණ හා පුහුණු ආයතනයේදී පැවැත්වුණු දත්ත විශ්ලේෂණ සහ බලශක්ති BI පිළිබඳ වෘත්තීය සංවර්ධන මාවත යටතේ හඳුන්වා දුන් පළමු වැඩමුළුවයි. මෙම වැඩමුළුව කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ කළමනාකරණ හා මූල්‍ය පීඨයේ රොටරැක්ට් සමාජය, SLIIT හි රොටරැක්ට් සමාජය සහ කොළඹ මිඩ් සිටි රොටරැක්ට් සමාජය විසින් සංවිධානය කරන ලදී. වැඩමුළුවේ ප්‍රධාන පරමාර්ථය වූයේ දත්ත විශ්ලේෂණ සහ Power BI වල බලය උපයෝගී කර ගැනීමට අවශ්‍ය දැනුම සහ කුසලතා සහභාගිවන්නන් සන්නද්ධ කිරීම, ඔවුන්ට බලපෑම් සහගත දෘශ්‍යකරණයන් නිර්මාණය කිරීමට සහ දත්ත මත පදනම්ව දැනුවත් තීරණ ගැනීමට හැකියාව ලබා දීමයි. මීට අමතරව, සහභාගීවන්නන්ට විශ්වාසයෙන් යුතුව දත්ත විශ්ලේෂණ පිළිබඳ ඔවුන්ගේ ප්‍රවීණතාවය තවදුරටත් වර්ධනය කර ගැනීම සඳහා මීළඟ පියවර සදහා මඟ පෙන්වීම මෙම වැඩමුළුවේ අරමුණ විය.

පැය හතරක පමණ කාලයක් පුරා පැවති මෙම වැඩමුළුව Virtusa Pvt හි කුසලතා සංවර්ධන නායක සහ කුසලතා විශ්ලේෂක ලෙස කටයුතු කරන ලලිත පෙරේරා මහතා විසින් මෙහෙයවන ලදී. Virtusa හි අධ්‍යක්ෂ ලෙස කටයුතු කරන සම්පත් තිරිමාවිතාන මහතා ද ප්‍රධාන කථිකයා ලෙස වටිනා අවබෝධයක් ප්‍රේක්ෂකයින් හට ලබාදෙමින් උත්සවයේ අමතමින් ‍ප්‍රධානත්වය දැක්වීය. මෙම වැඩමුළුව සඳහා මාතෘකා අනුග්‍රාහකයෙකු ලෙස සහයෝගීව කටයුතු කරනු ලැබුවේ ගෞරවනීය වරලත් පුද්ගල කළමනාකරණ ආයතනය (CIPM) විසිනි.සැසිය පෙරවරු 10.00 ට පමණ ආරම්භ වූ අතර වැඩමුළුවේ ලියාපදිංචි කිරීමේ කොටස SLIIT සාමාජිකයින් විසින් සිදු කරන ලදී. වරලත් පුද්ගල කළමනාකරණ ආයතනයේ (CIPM) තොරතුරු ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමකින් වැඩසටහන ආරම්භ විය. මෙම සැසියේ පළමු කොටස ලලිත පෙරේරා මහතා විසින් Power BI හි ප්‍රයෝජන සහ වාසි පිළිබඳ රසවත් හැඳින්වීමක් සමඟින් ඉදිරිපත් කරන ලදී. පැය 2ක පමණ කාලයක් පැවති මෙම සැසිය සිසුන්ගේ මනස ප්‍රබෝධමත් කිරීම සඳහා කුඩා විවේකයක් ලබා දෙන ලදී. අනතුරුව සම්පත් ත්‍රිමාවිතාන මහතා දවසේ ප්‍රධාන දේශනය පැවැත්වීය. ඔහුගේ ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමේ හැකියාව සහ මිත්‍රශීලී පෞරුෂය කාගේත් අවධානයට ලක්විය. ගෝලීයකරණයත් සමඟ කෘත්‍රිම බුද්ධිය හඳුන්වාදීමත් සමඟ ලෝකයේ සිදුවන වෙනස්කම් ගැන ඔහු කතා කළේය. ඔහුගේ කතාවෙන් පසු Rtr. විශ්වි විජේතුංග විසින් ඔහුට ඇගැයීමේ ලකුණක් පිරිනමන ලදී.
