The FMF Challenge, a thrilling one-day sports event exclusively for Rotaractors of RACUOCFMF, organized by the Sports and Recreational Activities Avenue, surpassed all expectations. Held on January 24th, 2023, with a remarkable turnout of over 20 enthusiastic Rotaractors, the event aimed to select players for the upcoming Rotaract Champions League (RCL) and provide a refreshing escape after the grueling end-semester exams.
ක්රීඩා සහ විනෝදාත්මක ක්රියාකාරකම් මාවත විසින් සංවිධානය කරන ලද RACUOCFMF හි රොටරැක්ටර්වරුන් සඳහා පමණක්ම වූ ත්රාසජනක එක්දින ක්රීඩා ඉසව්වක් වන “The FMF Challenge”, සියලු අපේක්ෂාවන් අභිබවා ගියේය. 2023 ජනවාරි 24 වැනි දින, උද්යෝගිමත් රොටරැක්ටර්වරුන් 20කට අධික සංඛ්යාවකගේ කැපී පෙනෙන සහභාගීත්වයක් ඇතිව පවත්වන ලද මෙම උත්සවය, එළඹෙන Rotaract Champions League (RCL) සඳහා ක්රීඩකයන් තෝරා ගැනීම සහ අවසන් වාර විභාගවලින් පසු ප්රබෝධමත් ගැලවීමක් ලබා දීම අරමුණු කර ගෙන ඇත.
FMF சவால் என்பது RACUOCFMF இன் ரோட்டராக்டர்களுக்காக பிரத்தியேகமாக நடத்தப்பட்ட ஒரு நாள் விளையாட்டு நிகழ்வாகும், இது கொழும்பு பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் ரோட்ராக்ட் கிளப்பின் விளையாட்டு மற்றும் பொழுதுபோக்கு நடவடிக்கைகள் அவென்யூ, முகாமைத்துவ மற்றும் நிதி பீடத்தால் ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டது. இத்திட்டத்தின் முக்கிய நோக்கம், வரவிருக்கும் ரோட்ராக்ட் சாம்பியன்ஸ் லீக்கிற்கு (RCL) வீரர்களைத் தேர்ந்தெடுப்பது மற்றும் இறுதி செமஸ்டர் தேர்வுகளுக்குப் பிறகு சக ரோட்டராக்டர்களின் மனதைப் புதுப்பிப்பதற்கான பொழுதுபோக்கு நோக்கமாக இருந்தது. இந்த நிகழ்வு 2023 ஜனவரி 24 ஆம் தேதி 20க்கும் மேற்பட்ட ரோட்டராக்டர்களின் பங்கேற்புடன் நடைபெற்றது.
Originally planned for futsal and indoor cricket at an indoor court, destiny led us to the grand indoor stadium and our very own grounds at the University of Colombo. Surprisingly, the sports we played differed entirely from our initial plans, featuring the electrifying trio of Basketball, Table Tennis, and Badminton.
The day began with eager anticipation and Rtr. Riveen stood out as the epitome of enthusiasm, being the first to arrive at the grounds even before the organizers. As the clock ticked past the scheduled 8:00 am start time, we experienced a minor delay, but it paled in comparison to our previous projects, filling us with relief.
Basketball took center stage as the opening sport, where Rtr. Theeksha’s multifaceted talent took us by surprise. Known for his prowess in rugger as the vice-captain of our university team, it was on the basketball court that we witnessed his exceptional abilities. Rtr. Sandali, our club’s vice president, immediately proposed his inclusion in the upcoming RCL. Alongside Rtr. Theeksha, Rtr. Janul and Rtr. Chanuka displayed remarkable agility, becoming the driving force of the basketball matches.
Transitioning indoors, the Rotaractors delved into Table Tennis and Badminton. Rtr. Gihan and Sithum dazzled in Badminton, showcasing their skillful play and igniting the competitive spirit. In Table Tennis, Rtr. Aman and the ever-surprising Rtr. Riveen took the spotlight. Despite Rtr. Riveen’s claim of being an infrequent table tennis player, his lightning reflexes and innate talent left us astounded.
As the clock neared 11:30 am, the event drew to a close, leaving behind a trail of joyful memories for all the Rotaractors who participated. The FMF Challenge embodied the essence of unity, sportsmanship, and pure fun, forging bonds among Rotaractors and inspiring them to reach new heights.
