Puhul dosi is a sweet Sri Lankan dessert made from ripe ash pumpkin, also known as “puhul.” The pumpkin is cooked with sugar and water, creating a soft, sweet, and slightly syrupy texture. The lime juice adds a touch of tanginess that balances the sweetness, while a pinch of salt enhances the flavors. For added fragrance, cardamom or cinnamon can be included.
This dessert has a smooth, melt-in-your-mouth consistency and a natural sweetness from the pumpkin, making it a comforting, traditional treat often served during festivals or special occasions.
