“Whispers and Wonders” is a unique project that stands as a testament to the beauty of linguistic diversity, aiming to compile poems from three different languages: English, Tamil, and Sinhala, at the core of “Whispers and Wonders” is a dedication to honoring the subtleties of language and poetry’s ability to elicit emotion and provoke introspection. Poets from many backgrounds work together to build a tale that transcends linguistic borders and embraces the human experience in all of its complexities. Rotaractors from Rotaract Club of Wellawatte, Rotaract Club of UCSC, Rotaract Club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts, and Rotaract Club of USJ contribute their poems to the project, adding layers of richness and diversity to the anthology.
One of the most innovative aspects of “Whispers and Wonders” is that each poem in the series is accompanied by an audio clip of the poem being recited. This multimedia approach not only enhances the reader’s experience but also brings the poems to life in a way that transcends the written word alone. By embedding audio clips alongside the written text, the project offers a multi-sensory journey that engages both the mind and the soul.
“Whispers and Wonders” is a celebration of creativity and expression, bringing poets of all ages together to offer their unique perspectives on life, love, and everything in between. Unlike traditional anthologies, this project provides a diverse range of themes, allowing writers to explore the depths of their imagination and choose subjects close to their hearts. “Whispers and Wonders” යනු කාව්‍ය මාලා සම්පාදනය කිරීමේ අරමුණින්, ඉංග්‍රීසි, දෙමළ, සහ සිංහල, යන භාෂා තුනකින් භාෂාමය විවිධත්වයේ සුන්දරත්වය පිළිබඳ සාක්ෂියක් ලෙසින් නැගී සිටින සහ එම කාව්‍යයන් RACUOCFMF හි FMF blog හි පළ කර ඇති අද්විතීය ව්‍යාපෘතියකි. “Whispers and Wonders” හි හරය තුළ භාෂාවේ සියුම් බව සහ කාව්‍යයේ හැඟීම් උද්දීපනය කිරීමට සහ අභ්‍යන්තර විමර්ශනය අවුලුවාලීමට ඇති හැකියාවට ගෞරව කිරීමට කරන ලද කැපවීමකි. බොහෝ පසුබිම්වල කවියන් එක්ව භාෂාමය දේශසීමා ඉක්මවා යන සහ එහි සියලු සංකීර්ණතා තුළ මානව අත්දැකීම් වැලඳ ගන්නා කතාවක් ගොඩනඟා ගැනීමට කටයුතු කරයි. වැල්ලවත්තේ Rotaract සමාජය, UCSC හි Rotaract සමාජය, කොළඹ විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ කලා පීඨ Rotaract සමාජය, සහ USJ Rotaract සමාජය යන Rotaract සමාජ මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතියට පොහොසත්කමේ සහ විවිධත්වයේ ස්ථර එකතු කරමින් සිය කවි දායකත්වය සපයයි.
“Whispers and Wonders” හි වඩාත් නව්‍ය අංගයක් නම්, ලිපි මාලාවේ සෑම කවියක්ම එම කවියේ හඬ පටයක් සමඟින් තිබීමයි. මෙම බහුමාධ්‍ය ප්‍රවේශය පාඨකයාගේ අත්දැකීම වැඩි දියුණු කරනවා පමණක් නොව, ලිඛිත වචනය ඉක්මවා යන අයුරින් කවිවලට ජීවය ලබා දෙයි. ලිඛිත පෙළ සමඟ ශ්‍රව්‍ය ක්ලිප් ඇතුළත් කිරීමෙන්, ව්‍යාපෘතිය මනස සහ ආත්මය යන දෙකම සම්බන්ධ කරන බහු-සංවේදක ගමනක් ඉදිරිපත් කරයි.
“Whispers and Wonders” යනු නිර්මාණශීලීත්වයේ සහ ප්‍රකාශනයේ සැමරුමක් වන අතර, සෑම වයස් කාණ්ඩයකම කවියන් එක්ව ජීවිතය, ආදරය සහ ඒ අතර ඇති සෑම දෙයක් ගැනම ඔවුන්ගේ අද්විතීය දෘෂ්ටිකෝණයන් ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට කටයුතු කරයි. සාම්ප්‍රදායික ග්‍රන්ථවල මෙන් නොව, මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය විවිධ තේමා පරාසයක් සපයමින්, ලේඛකයින්ට පරිකල්පනයේ ගැඹුර ගවේෂණය කර ඔවුන්ගේ හදවතට සමීප විෂයයන් තෝරා ගැනීමට ඉඩ සලසයි. ස්වභාවධර්මයේ සුන්දරත්වයේ සිට මානව සබඳතාවල සංකීර්ණතා දක්වා, සෑම කවියක්ම මිනිස් ආත්මයේ අසීමිත නිර්මාණශීලීත්වයට සාක්ෂියකි.
මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය හරස් සංස්කෘතික සංවාදය සහ අවබෝධය පෝෂණය කිරීමේ වේදිකාවක් ලෙස ක්‍රියා කරයි. විවිධ භාෂාමය සහ සංස්කෘතික පසුබිම්වල කවියන් සහ පාඨකයන් එකට එක්කිරීමෙන්, ව්‍යාපෘතිය හුවමාරු කර ගැනීම් සහ සංවේදනය සඳහා අවකාශයක් නිර්මාණය කරන අතර, බෙදීම් සමනය කිරීම සහ හවුල් මනුෂ්‍යත්වය පිළිබඳ හැඟීමක් පෝෂණය කරයි. කවියේ මායාව තුළින්, එම විවිධත්වය තුළ පවතින සුන්දරත්වය මෙන්ම ප්‍රබෝධමත් කිරීමට, නඟා සිටුවීමට සහ එක්සත් කිරීමට වචනවල ඇති පරිවර්තනීය බලය අපට මතක් කර දෙයි.
