Women are the heart of our world. They shape it, sustain it and strengthen it. Challenges are a part of women’s lives. Therefore, they possess innate skills by nature that make them stronger, more tolerant, resilient and capable of facing any kind of difficulty in life. Women are not just winning in life for their own well-being. Their unbeatable personalities are becoming role models for a society, a nation and the entire world.
In the past, we lived in a patriarchal society where men were seen as leaders, decision-makers and rulers in society. Women were expected to raise children and were engaged in day-to-day domestic duties to ensure family welfare. Men worked hard to earn a living and women were dependent on them. Therefore, women had to obey men in order to sustain themselves and their children.
Along with the development of social, technological and economic aspects, women also became a part of the economy and they pursued higher educational levels, higher employment roles and management positions. Even though women’s professional status was upgraded day by day, the duties and responsibilities they fulfilled when they were unemployed never disappeared. Women had to balance their work life and personal life on their own. During work hours, women struggled to achieve the organisational goals while managing the household chores and childcare duties after work.
This extraordinary capability of balancing life made them even stronger and they eventually developed the power to take care of themselves and to speak up against injustice. As a result, women’s achievements are known to be inspirational rather than just successful. Success can be defined as the accomplishment of an aim or purpose, measured not only by wealth or status but also by personal growth, fulfilment and the positive impact on others. And the process of being mentally stimulated to feel or to do something creative, brave or meaningful, often sparked by the courage and actions of others, is known as inspiration. Women usually follow their hearts rather than their brains. Therefore, their achievements are measured in emotional terms. Women’s cultural habit of associating with emotion, empathy and nurturing leads an entire nation towards humanity – the essence of being a human being.
The greatest responsibility of a woman is to raise an educated, independent and resilient child who will be empathetic and compassionate towards society. By being the first role model for her children, a mother who has endured countless barriers and hardships in life will undoubtedly contribute an unstoppable, humane individual to the universe.
Most of the time, women’s achievements are described as inspirational because society still has low expectations of women’s capabilities. Therefore, when women succeed by outperforming men, it breaks the traditional stereotype. Even though gender equality has become a central topic of global discussion in today’s context, women’s success is still seen as beating the odds by society.
Accordingly, all accomplishments, no matter how big or small, achieved by women through sacrificing, compromising, withstanding and empowering throughout their life journey are truly inspirational rather than simply called successful. Nevertheless, in the future, true equality will be attained when a woman’s achievement is called simply successful without specifying that it is inspiring because women are no less competent than men. Thus, it will be the greatest achievement of womanhood in history to establish true equality in the world.
