Gold – Project “Future Challenge” by the Rotaract Club of Faculty of Science, University of Colombo

The Rotaract Club of Faculty of Science, University of Colombo, takes the gold award for its exceptional professional development initiative, ‘Future Challenge.’ Since its inception in 2005, this program has been a beacon of transformative learning, seamlessly integrating academic knowledge with practical corporate insights. In its 20th consecutive year, ‘Future Challenge 2023-24’ received the prestigious Gold Award for the “Most Exceptionally Executed Professional Development Initiative” at the 33rd Rotaract District Assembly in July 2023. The four phases of impact, ranging from virtual panel discussions to physical mock interviews, showcase the program’s comprehensive approach to preparing students for their professional journey. The Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa secures the silver award with its annual career fair, “Are You Ready?” This event, spanning over 26 years, has evolved into a comprehensive platform for more than 1000 undergraduates to explore job opportunities and enhance their professional skills. The event, featuring dynamic sub-projects such as resume-checking sessions, webinars on various career fields, and a flagship fair simulating a corporate atmosphere, reflects the club’s dedication to guiding students toward successful careers. The overarching goal of “Are You Ready?” is to help undergraduates confidently pursue their career aspirations by providing guidance and bridging the gap between academia and the business world.

Bronze – Project “What Next?” by the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo Faculty of Management and Finance & Project “Pioneers” by the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya

The bronze award goes to the organizers of the “What Next? Career Expo-2023, organized by RAUOCFMF an event that not only showcased career prospects for Management students at the University but also drew significant business sponsors, including ‘MAS Holdings,’ ‘Rizing,’ and ‘Unilever’. The event’s success was evident in the long queues for walk-in interviews and the engagement of company representatives. The collaborative efforts of committee and non-committee volunteers, coupled with the spirit of hard work and commitment, marked the event’s triumph. The feedback from company representatives highlighted the positive impact of the “What Next?” career expo, emphasizing its unique and victorious style.Pioneers a project initiiated by the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya is another initiative that was recognized at the 33rd Rotaract District Assembly. This initiative was focused on finding innovative solutions, through Rotaractors; undergraduate students who are the youth to the prevailing environmental, economic, and social issues. The submissions were showcased, and they were judged by a panel of professionals while also awarding the winners with massive prizes so that they could enhance their innovations. In conclusion, these Rotaract Clubs have set the standard for exceptionally executed professional development initiatives, providing students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to thrive in the competitive world of work.
