“Life is not a final exam. It’s daily pop quizzes.” In the vast and fascinating world of trivia, every seemingly mundane moment can be transformed into a dazzling showcase of knowledge, wit, and mental agility. Trivia games offer a unique platform for learning, social interaction, and most importantly, fun. Whether you’re a seasoned trivia master or a curious novice, each question presents an opportunity to discover something new.
Recognizing the power of trivia to connect people and foster friendships, Rotaract clubs, including the Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Management and Finance, Faculty of Science at the University of Colombo, the University of Peradeniya, and Uva Wellassa University – Badulla, organized an innovative Trivia Night. This event was designed to bring together members from different clubs, enabling them to forge new connections while enjoying the advantages of a virtual gathering, allowing convenient access regardless of location. The Trivia Night was not just a casual game night but a carefully planned event aimed at fulfilling several key objectives with the main aim of Regional Engagement, which encouraged interaction between clubs in different zones.
Held on May 28th, 2024, from 6.00 p.m. onwards, the Trivia Night featured various questions covering topics from movies and TV series to anime, cartoons, general knowledge, and a music segment called “Guess the Song.” The preparation involved delegating the creation of trivia questions to different clubs, incorporating a variety of ideas to ensure the event was engaging and lively. A trial run before the main event ironed out potential issues, ensuring a smooth execution on the night. When the event kicked off, participants were organized into teams of 4-5 members, each with a moderator, and assigned to breakout rooms. The atmosphere was electric with anticipation and excitement. Teams engaged in spirited discussions and quick exchanges of answers via Kahoot, exemplifying the collaborative spirit and fellowship among Rotaract members.
As the night progressed and the final scores were tallied, the true victory of the Trivia Night became clear, the bonds forged, and the memories created. Beyond the trivia questions, this fellowship project highlighted the power of collaboration and community-building within the Rotaract network. Project Trivia Night seamlessly integrated entertainment with intellectual stimulation, embodying the Rotaract vision of service, fellowship, and professional development. As participants bid farewell to the virtual gathering, they left with the thrill of competition and the warmth of newfound connections, marking the event as a memorable milestone in their Rotaract journey.
“ජීවිතය අවසාන විභාගයක් නොවේ. එය දිනපතා පැමිණෙන ප්‍රශ්නාවලියකි.” සුවිසල් හා ආකර්ශනීය ලෝකය තුළ, ලෞකික යැයි පෙනෙන සෑම මොහොතක්ම දැනුම, බුද්ධිය සහ මානසික කඩිසර බව පිළිබඳ විස්මිත ප්‍රදර්ශනයක් බවට පරිවර්තනය කළ හැකිය. Trivia ක්‍රීඩාව ඉගෙනීම, සමාජ අන්තර්ක්‍රියා සහ වඩාත්ම වැදගත් ලෙස විනෝදය සඳහා අද්විතීය වේදිකාවක් නිර්මාණය කරයි. ඔබ පළපුරුදු trivia ප්‍රවීණයෙක් හෝ කුතුහලයෙන් යුත් නවකයෙක් වුවද, සෑම ප්‍රශ්නයක්ම අලුත් දෙයක් සොයා ගැනීමට අවස්ථාවක් ඉදිරිපත් කරයි.
මිනිසුන් සම්බන්ධ කිරීමට සහ මිත්‍රත්වය වර්ධනය කිරීමට අවශ්‍ය සුළු බලය හඳුනා ගනිමින්, කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ කලා පීඨය, වෛද්‍ය පීඨය, කළමනාකරණ හා මූල්‍ය පීඨය, විද්‍යා පීඨය, පේරාදෙණිය විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය සහ බදුල්ල ඌව වෙල්ලස්ස විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය ඇතුළු රොටරැක්ට් සමාජයන් එක්ව Trivia Night සංවිධානය කළේය. මෙම උත්සවය විවිධ සමාජයන්හි සාමාජිකයින් එක් කිරීමට සැලසුම් කර තිබූ අතර, ඔවුන්ට කුමන ස්ථානයක වුවත්, පහසුවෙන් ප්‍රවේශ වීමට ඉඩ සලසන මාර්ගගත රැස්වීමක වාසි භුක්ති විඳිමින් නව සම්බන්ධතා ගොඩනගා ගැනීමට ඔවුන්ට හැකි විය. Trivia Night යනු ක්‍රීඩාව සඳහා පමණක් වූ රාත්‍රියක් පමණක් නොව, ගැඹුරින් සැලසුම් කළ රාත්‍රියක් වන අතර විවිධ කලාපවල සමාජයන් අතර අන්තර්ක්‍රියාකාරීත්වය දිරිමත් කිරීම අරමුණු කරගත් උත්සවයකි.
2024 මැයි 28 දින ප.ව. 6.00 සිට, චිත්‍රපට සහ රූපවාහිනී කතා මාලාවල සිට ඇනිම, කාටූන්, සාමාන්‍ය දැනුම සහ “Guess the Song” නමින් සංගීත අංශයක් දක්වා මාතෘකා ආවරණය වන පරිදි පුළුල් පරාසයක ප්‍රශ්නමාලාවක් Trivia Night හි ඇතුළත් විය. හොඳ සුදානමක් සඳහා විවිධ සමාජයන් හර සුළු ප්‍රශ්න නිර්මාණය කිරීම පැවරීම, උත්සවය ආකර්ෂණීය සහ සජීවී බව සහතික කිරීම සඳහා විවිධ අදහස් ඇතුළත් කිරීම මෙහි අන්තර්ගත විය. මෙම රාත්‍රිය සුමට ලෙස ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීම සහතික කරමින් ප්‍රධාන ඉසව්වට පෙර, පෙර පුහුණුවක් කළ අතර එය ඉදිරියේදී මතු විය හැකි ගැටළු නිරාකරණය කළේය. උත්සවය ආරම්භ කළ පසු, සාමාජිකයින් 4-5 දෙනෙකුගෙන් යුත් කණ්ඩායම් වශයෙන් සංවිධානය කරන ලදි. එම එක් එක් කණ්ඩායම සඳහා පරිපාලකයෙකු සිටි අතර, ඔවුන්ව විවේක කාමර සඳහා පවරන ලදී. අපේක්‍ෂාවෙන් හා උද්යෝගයෙන් වටපිටාව උණුසුම් විය. රොටරැක්ට් සාමාජිකයින් අතර සහයෝගීතාවය සහ සහයෝගීතාවය විදහා දක්වමින් කණ්ඩායම් Kahoot හරහා උද්යෝගිමත් සාකච්ඡා සහ පිළිතුරු ඉක්මනින් හුවමාරු කරගත්තේය.
රාත්‍රිය ගෙවී අවසන් ලකුණු එකතු වෙද්දී ත්‍රිවියා රාත්‍රියේ සැබෑ ජයග්‍රහණය පැහැදිලි විය;බැඳීම් ගොඩනැගුණු අතර මතකයන් නිර්මාණය විය. සුළු ප්‍රශ්නවලින් ඔබ්බට, මෙම සහයෝගිතා ව්‍යාපෘතිය රොටරැක්ට් ජාලය තුළ සහයෝගීතාවයේ සහ ප්‍රජාව ගොඩනැගීමේ බලය ඉස්මතු කළේය. Trivia Night ව්‍යාපෘතිය සේවය, සහයෝගීතාවය සහ වෘත්තීය සංවර්ධනය පිළිබඳ රොටරැක්ට් දැක්ම මූර්තිමත් කරමින් බුද්ධිමය උත්තේජනයක් සමඟ විනෝදාස්වාදය බාධාවකින් තොරව ඒකාබද්ධ කළේය. සහභාගිවන්නන් මාර්ගගත රැස්වීමෙන් සමුගනිද්දී, ඔවුන් තරගයේ ත්‍රාසය පමණක් නොව අලුතින් ගොඩනැගුණු සම්බන්ධතාවල උණුසුමද සමඟින් පිටත්ව ගිය අතර, එම අවස්ථාව ඔවුන්ගේ රොටරැක්ට් ගමනේ අමතක නොවන සන්ධිස්ථානයක් ලෙස සනිටුහන් විය.

Kahoot மூலம் உற்சாகமான விவாதங்கள் மற்றும் விரைவான பதில் பரிமாற்றங்களில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ள குழுக்கள், Rotaract உறுப்பினர்களிடையே உள்ள கூட்டு மனப்பான்மை மற்றும் கூட்டுறவு ஆகியவற்றை எடுத்துக்காட்டுகின்றன. இறுதி மதிப்பெண்கள் கணக்கிடப்பட்டபோது, Trivia night இன் உண்மையான வெற்றி தெளிவாகியதுடன், பிணைப்புகள் உருவாக்கப்பட்டன மேலும் நினைவுகள் உருவாக்கப்பட்டன. அற்பமான கேள்விகளுக்கு அப்பால், இந்த fellowship திட்டம் Rotaract network இல் ஒத்துழைப்பு மற்றும் சமூகத்தை கட்டியெழுப்பும் சக்தியை எடுத்துக்காட்டுகிறது.
