To the dreamers…

“I have lots of things to prove to myself. One is that I can live my life fearlessly.”

-Oprah Winfrey.

It’s almost a hundred percent true statement if somebody said we all have had a dream in our life. Even though this is a very common experience for all of us, unfortunately not every one of us will be able to achieve those dreams, while some go on and make their dreams come true. If you think about it, every US president was once a child, just like us, and went on to be one of the most powerful people of all time. Who would have thought that, just because of something that we saw, heard, or sensed which led to triggering a trail of thoughts inside could make such a miracle happen?

When you see all of those medal-winning athletes, actors, and singers who once had a dream to be, have you ever thought about achieving at least one of your dreams? As dreamers, we always wonder whether we would ever be able to achieve any of it or whether we could come to the point where we give up on them. Have you ever cared to ponder on what makes them (the record-holding athletes and celebrities) different from us?

Once a dream is achieved it’s no longer a dream, it becomes real. The threshold between you becoming a champion or a star is they have made it a real thing. Once something that was thought impossible to define as a dream was made real by those people. Now you might wonder how they managed to obtain such an extraordinary achievement.

These people once had a plan which step by step made them reach their dream, which is no longer a dream but a goal in their life. That’s what makes us apart from being able to make our dreams a reality. Not only having a plan is enough. But acting according to it is the most crucial and the hardest part of this journey. Moving on with a plan without it getting mundane is not always easy. That is where motivation comes into play.

Even though there are plenty of motivators out there, getting motivated for the right reasons and being motivated in the correct manner is more important. Nowadays, certain motivational speakers are giving the wrong picture to their viewers as if that motivation is some form of getting revenge, which produces negative energy and could lead us through the wrong path. On the other hand, some motivational speakers would portray a motivated person who always has to be who constantly works 24/7 while ignoring their well-being. Thereby, being able to identify the extreme identities and not being triggered by or distracted by those external factors by keeping a sharp eye on the goal is another challenge.

Irrespective of the fact that we are constantly keeping our focus on the goal, we should never forget to have time for ourselves which is also a healthy habit. Most importantly, we should always remember that we all go towards a dream not for our family, friends, teachers, or anyone else but for ourselves. Therefore, never forget to keep yourself entertained and happy. Appreciate yourself for choosing to follow a dream. Be excited when you are working towards it. Don’t be harsh on yourself for a little mistake that can happen along the way. Thank yourself for making you who you are now. Even if something goes wrong, it’s your life, and winning is not always about a trophy or being famous. As long as you don’t hurt anyone, if you are content with what you have done with your life so far or doing right now before you know it, you’ll be at the winning post. 🙂
